Tubing through Belize's unique underground cave system is the must-do tour in Belize. After meeting your Belize guide, you will walk to your air-conditioned transportation for the ... moreapproximately one-hour drive to the Caves Branch River and its winding path through the Mayan Mountains and numerous ancient caves.

After picking up your tube, you will walk down to the adjacent river. This will be the spot where you finish your float. You will start the adventure by wading across the river, holding onto a rope strung across the water. From here, you will set out on a 30-minute walk along a jungle trail over loose gravel. Guests must be in good shape and able to keep up with the guide on this Belize excursion.

At the entrance of the underground cave system, your guide will hand out miner's lamps before you enter the water. You will float along on the gentle current that will take you through the cave system. Intricate crystalline formations line the cave, and the majestic rise and fall of stalagmites and stalactites add to the serene opulence of nature. The floating part of the adventure lasts approximately two hours, depending on the current, and brings you back to the starting location of your Belize excursion.

After the float, walk back up to the transportation for the drive to the pier.

Please Note: As the river bottom is rocky, you must wear shoes (sneakers or water shoes) while tubing, and they will get wet. Do not forget a towel and dry shoes for after the tour. Guests with special dietary requirements may need to bring a snack or power bar, as the tour duration is five hours. Guests must be a minimum age of 8 years old and 48" in height. Tour times listed are in local time.

Just about 80 miles west of Belize City, endures Xunantunich, an Ancient Maya archaeological site that majestically stands at the summit of a mountain giving a dominant view of the entire site and region.

The Mayans made use of the land and its terrains, as they did so above the surface they also did so below the surface. The Mayans believed that the caves were an entrance to Xibalba “a place of fear” related to death. It is completely so because the Mayans used the caves to perform death rituals and also the river flowing through these caves provided a secret passageway to ambush enemies.

This brings us to your next stop of the trip, Cave Tubing into a cave system at Caves Branch. Inside the caves, you will encounter remains of ancient artifacts, tools, and also secret chambers.

The tour offers a complimentary hour & 30 minutes Water Taxi transfer to Belize City in which you will journey along Caye Caulker, Caye Chapel, and mangroves and enjoy a glimpse of St. George’s Caye before arriving at the commercial City of Belize where you will meet your tour guide. From there you board on a private vehicle with your guide as you begin your road trip on the George Price Highway to Xunantunich. You will get enough time to explore the entire courtyard, and the Temples and also visit the on-site museum and gift shop before it is time to head back on the highway to Caves Branch.
