Passing through the savannas of northern Belize we may encounter the magnificent Jabiru, Black-throated Bobwhites, and Vermilion Flycatchers. Leaving the savanna we pass through the old logging settlements of Luckystrike and Rockstone Pond and unto Altun Ha. At the site itself, our expert guide will provide you with a well-informed tour of the ancient city by pointing out birds that may be passing over; such as King Vultures, White-crowned Parrots, and Montezuma Oropendolas. Following the tour of the main site, we will take the trail to an ancient pond that was built by the people of Altun Ha to provide water during the dry season. Along the way, the broadleaf forest will provide us with species such as Golden-Olive Woodpeckers, Royal Flycatchers, Black-headed Trogons, and our national bird the Keel-billed Toucan. At the pond, we'll come across Green and Ringed Kingfishers, Anhingas, Green Herons, and even the surprise treat of a Morelet's Crocodile. Traverse the jungle on an off-road ATV, zip line along the canopy of the Rainforest, and float through the Maya underworld.
After the adrenaline rush of the zip line and jungle ATVs, we wash the mud off our clothes and take a 15-minute ride to the “No’hoch Che’en” national park. Here you will be fitted with a helmet, a headlight, a life jacket, and an appropriate flotation tube. It is a 30 – 45 minute hike to the entrance of the caves. Once we reach the entrance you will board your floating tube and be navigated through the underworld by one of our experienced guides.
In the caves, you will see eagles, turtles, mammoths, sharks, jellyfish, Indiana Jones, and even Darth Vader. Once we exit the caves you will continue down the lazy river for another 15 minutes right back to the starting point of the tour.
Once we are back to the land of the living you will enjoy a delicious meal before we take the ride back to your drop-off point. Along the way, we will share experiences, highlights, a local rum cocktail, or just take advantage of the free time with a siesta. Most guests prefer the siesta.

Next visit shark ray alley and get your heart pumping as you swim with 10-foot sharks. Nearby when the water temperature is just right you can swim just 10 feet away from a manatee. Stare in amazement as these gentle giants come up for air and look into your eyes with curiosity.
Once the snorkeling is done we head back to Caye Caulker for lunch and some exploring/shopping time. Then we leave Caye Caulker and party all the way back to the city!
Actun Tunichil Muknal (the Cave of the Crystal Sepulchre), also known locally as ATM, is a cave near San Ignacio, Cayo District, notable as a Maya archaeological site that includes ... moreskeletons, ceramics, and stoneware. There are several areas with skeletal remains in the main chamber.
Many of the Maya artifacts and remains are completely calcified to the cave floor. The ceramics at the site are significant partly because they are marked with “kill holes”, which indicate that they were used for ceremonial purposes. One artifact, named the “Monkey Pot”, is one of just four of its type found in Central America. The Maya also modified cave formations here, in some instances to create altars for the offerings, in others to create silhouettes of faces and animals or to project a shadow image into the cave. The cave is extensively decorated with cave formations in the upper passages.
Actun Tunichil Muknal cave was first entered by the Mayas in AD 300-600. It was not until the late AD 700-900 that the Mayas went deeper into the cave to perform their ceremonies. The cave was officially opened to the public in 1998.
The cave houses various types of artifacts from ceramics and stoneware to the remains of skeletons. The Mayas consider Actun Tunichil Muknal a highly sacred location, enclosing the famous “Crystal Maiden,” who was thought to be a sacrifice victim. After decades of weathering and natural processes, the surface of the skeleton appears to be covered with a geological sanded finish, which gives the maiden a somewhat magical fairy-dust appearance.

You will be picked up from anywhere you choose within the Belize city area by your licensed driver/guide. You will then be driven north of Belize City for approximately 1 hour. Along the way, your guide will be providing valuable information about our beautiful country. You also get to view the historic Belize River and pass through several villages as well. Once at the site, you will get a chance to use the restrooms after which you make your way to the entrance of the site where your driver/guide will be waiting. Before entering the site your guide will have you go through the museum where you will be presented with much more information about the site. Whilst in the company of your guide you will then make your way to the site itself to view the amazing structures in the two plazas. You will be able to take as many pictures as you like as well as to climb a couple of these ancient buildings culminating with your trek on top of the tallest structure the Temple of the Masonry Altar which was dedicated to the Sun God Kinach Ahou. Once finish at the site you get a chance to shop with the local artisan to get you authentic Belizean arts and crafts. From here you make your way back to Belize City.
