Description
Your day begins in the saddle, swaying down jungle trails in the Stann Creek foothills where the forest closes in, green and humming around you. Your horse knows the way through the dappled light, past strangler figs and the calls of oropendolas overhead, while your guide points out medicinal plants the Maya have used for centuries. The pace is unhurried, the air thick with the smell of wet earth and wild ginger, and by the time you dismount, your legs are pleasantly tired and your senses wide awake.
Then the world goes cool and quiet. You wade into a turquoise river, settle into an inner tube, and let the current carry you into a limestone cave the ancient Maya believed was an entrance to Xibalba, the underworld. Headlamps catch glittering stalactites and chambers where ceremonial fires once burned. The only sounds are dripping water, the soft splash of your paddle-hands, and your guide's voice echoing the stories carried down through generations.
You emerge blinking into the green afternoon, sun-warmed and quietly amazed at what you just floated through. A lunch caps the day before the easy ride back to the peninsula, your boots muddy, your camera full, and your sense of Belize a little wilder than it was this morning.

This rate applies to all participants on the tour: children, teens, youth, and adults. Important Transportation/Pickup Information
We used different types of transportation for our tours, depending on the group size and the destination. At Wilder Belize Adventures, we use late-model 2026 Toyota Hiace vans fully loaded with charging ports and seats that recline for groups and families of 6 passengers or more. For smaller groups of five people or less, we use our Toyota Sienna's 2015 / 2018 XLE and for couples, we use our SUVs. All were perfectly maintained and cleaned for the best, stylish, and comfortable rides.
Frequently Asked Questions
We keep groups small on purpose, usually 3 to 10 guests, so your guide has time for you. If you'd prefer a fully private trip for your family or friends, just ask, and we'll arrange it.
It depends on the tour. River trips and Maya ruin visits are easy and family-friendly, while the Cockscomb hikes and ATM cave are moderate to challenging, with climbing, wading, and uneven terrain. Each tour page lists a difficulty rating, and we're happy to help you pick one that fits your group.
Cancel at least 48 hours before your tour for a full refund of your deposit. Inside 48 hours we can usually reschedule you to another date, and weather cancellations on our end are always refunded in full or rebooked at no cost.
Book right here on the site or message us directly, and we'll confirm by email within a day. High-season trips (December to April) and border crossings like Tikal fill up fast, so we recommend booking at least a week ahead, though we'll always try to fit you in on shorter notice.
Many are. Chocolate making, the Maya ruins, and gentle waterfall trips are great for families with children, while the ATM cave and some ATV routes have age and height minimums for safety. Tell us your kids' ages, and we'll point you to the right adventures.

1. Booking & Payment: A booking is confirmed once payment has been received. Full payment is due before the scheduled tour date, unless otherwise agreed in writing. All prices are quoted in USD and are not guaranteed until a booking is confirmed with payment.
2. Cancellation by Guest — Refund Policy: For cancellations 48 hours or more before the scheduled departure, a full refund is available less any non-recoverable third-party costs already paid on the guest's behalf, such as permits, reserve fees, or equipment rental. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure are non-refundable. At our sole discretion, a credit toward a future booking may be offered instead. No-shows are treated as late cancellations and are non-refundable. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to wilderbelizeadventures@gmail.com.
3. Safety Cancellations or Changes: Wilder Belize Adventures may cancel, postpone, reroute, or modify a tour where our guides or local authorities determine it is necessary for guest safety. This includes weather, unsafe trail, water, cave, or site conditions, government closures, mechanical failure, insufficient minimum participants, or other conditions where safety cannot reasonably be assured. If a tour is cancelled before it begins, we may offer a full refund, rescheduling, or credit toward a future tour. If a tour is shortened or modified after departure, no refund is owed for the portion already delivered, though a partial credit may be offered at our discretion. Safety decisions made by guide staff on the ground are final.
4. Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability: Outdoor and adventure activities, including hiking, caving, ziplining, snorkeling, diving, boating, and jungle or river excursions, carry inherent risks of injury, illness, or death that cannot be eliminated.
Guests participate voluntarily and with knowledge of these risks: Guests assume all risks of participation, including risks arising from the ordinary negligence of Wilder Belize Adventures, its guides, staff, or agents, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct. Guests release and hold harmless Wilder Belize Adventures, its owners, employees, guides, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from participation in a tour or activity. Guests must follow all safety instructions given by guides and staff.
5. Health, Fitness & Suitability: Guests must disclose medical conditions, physical limitations, allergies, or fitness concerns that could affect safe participation before the tour begins. We may refuse or remove a guest from an activity if participation poses a safety risk to that guest or others. By booking, guests confirm they are physically fit for the activity level of their selected tour.
6. Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, evacuation, and adventure-activity risks. Wilder Belize Adventures is not responsible for losses that adequate travel insurance would have covered.
7. The refund or credit options in Section 3 apply in these cases.
8. Refund Processing: Approved refunds are processed within two business days to the original payment method. Bank or payment-processor fees may be deducted from the refund amount.
9. Changes to Itinerary: We may substitute guides, vehicles, equipment, routes, or sites with a comparable alternative without prior notice where necessary for operational or safety reasons. This does not constitute a material change to the booking.
10. Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for a claim arising from a booking is limited to the amount paid for that tour. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost time, missed connections, or unused third-party travel arrangements.
11. Governing Law: These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Belize. Disputes are subject to the courts of Belize.
