Here, we transition from our traditional skiff to a comfortable and shaded catamaran, featuring improved seating arrangements and safety railings for everyone, especially the children. This upgrade provides a better vantage point for a truly enjoyable trip up the Monkey River.

At 9:00 am, our local guide shares over a century's worth of captivating history about Monkey River Town. Discover how this town, alongside Belize City, played a pivotal role in the inception of the logging industry. Monkey River Town was also the birthplace of the banana industry, contributing significantly to the development of what was formerly known as British Honduras, now Belize.

The highlight of the tour awaits as we embark on a leisurely river cruise up the Monkey River. This tranquil journey allows us to spot a variety of wildlife at a relaxed pace. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of Howler Monkeys, Crocodiles, River Otters, numerous bird species, Iguanas, basalis, and the potential for many more captivating encounters with wildlife.

About midday, we head back to Alice's restaurant for our lunch. After lunch, we head back to Placencia, where we do a manatee watch on the way. After the manatee watch, we drop off at the same spot we pick up from.
