This tour takes participants to the village of Hopkins situated on the beautiful Caribbean coast of southeastern Belize. Participants will don traditional Garifuna clothing while learning about life in this traditional village and the history of the Garifuna people.
Participants will also work together to gather the ingredients and then cook a traditional Garifuna dish known as hudut. Hudut is the Garifuna variant of a coconut fish stew, cooking local fish in a creamy coconut milk mixture and then served with a side of delicious boiled plantains.
Following the meal, participants will enjoy a performance of Garifuna drumming and then learn to play several traditional Garifuna rhythms.

On our way to Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve, we cross ... morea fringing reef called Rocky Point. Once we arrive at the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve we then do two snorkeling stops. One is done at the channel and the second one is done at Barracuda Alley. After a fun day of snorkeling, we stop at the beach to eat delicious rice and beans. Once the food is served and everyone is happy, we jump onboard and make our way through the river that splits Mexico with Belize. While crossing, be on the lookout for birds, fishes, rays, and sometimes even manatees. After exiting the river, we stop at the information section where you learn some history from the Mayans and the island of Ambergris Caye. This information site has a tower that you can climb. The view from up there is amazing. After leaving the information center, we make our way from the back part of the island. After seeing Northside Belize City, we will travel up the George Price Highway approximately 40 minutes out of the City whilst learning a little about who George Price was and what he has done for our country.
Along the highway, guests will be able to see some small communities and some flora and fauna along the highways as well as some wetlands. You will then arrive at the Belize Zoo where your tour guide will allow you some time to use the restroom before you start the tour for about an hour.
At the Belize Zoo, you will be able to see some native animals to Belize as well as some troublesome animals such as Jaguars and Crocodiles that were harming the livestock of our farmers. Some were donated to the Belize Zoo because they were illegal to have as a pet, and others were rescued from the wild.

Altun Ha was a wealthy ceremonial center boasting two main plazas, and thirteen structures (including the Temple of Sun God or the Temple of the Masonry Altars). Altun Ha is not very far from the Caribbean Sea and it formed part of a unique cultural zone along with other coastal sites.
It is also where the Largest Jade was ever found in the Mayan Kingdom. During an excavation, Dr. David Pendergast, along with Mr. Wilhelm Leslie of Rockstone Pond, and another Belizean (Mr. Winston Herbert of Lucky Strike Village), discovered the famous jade sculpture of Kinich Ahau, in 1968.
After visiting Altun Ha we head back towards Belize City where your Tour Guide will take you along the South side of Belize City where guests will be able to view life on the south side of the city and then will make a short stop at one of the oldest church in Central America, St. John’s Cathedral built in 1812, then will proceed back to the Fort Street Tourism Village.
