Description / Objective
The objective of this Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Multimedia Case Study is to guide the creation of comprehensive and impactful multimedia documentation that highlights the technological advancements and achievements of the Belizing Tourism Innovation Lab Project. The case study aims to serve as a source of inspiration, education, and collaboration for stakeholders in the tourism, education, and technology sectors in Belize.

Through engaging multimedia elements, the case study seeks to showcase innovation, provide educational insights, demonstrate real-world impact, promote sustainable tourism practices, engage diverse stakeholders, explore technology advancements, and offer a model for similar projects. The goal is to enhance visibility, encourage collaboration, and contribute valuable data-driven insights while maintaining transparency, ethical considerations, and a visually engaging narrative.
 
Key Responsibilities
Scope of Work

The consultancy will encompass a series of activities to ensure the effective development and delivery of a compelling multimedia case study for the Belizing Tourism Innovation Lab Project. The consultant will collaborate closely with the monitoring and evaluation consultant to achieve seamless integration of project evaluation data into the case study.

The key activities include:

  1. Needs Assessment: Jointly meet with the client to understand project goals,objectives, and key messages. Collaborate on reviewing project documentation, reports, and related materials.
  2. Content Development: Develop a creative and engaging story that highlights key messages. Write the case study narrative and develop scripts for videos and animations.
  3. Conduct Interviews: Collaboratively interview key project stakeholders, including project leads, technology experts, educators, and beneficiaries. Gather quantitative and qualitative data on the project's impact.
  4. Multimedia Production: Produce high-quality multimedia content, encompassing videos, photos, and animations. Collaborate with videographers, photographers, and animators to create informative content.
  5. Editing and Assembly: Edit video and audio content, assembling it into a final case study video. Add music, sound effects, and graphics to ensure a polished and professional product.
  6. Delivery: Deliver the final case study video to the client in a preferred format. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, data privacy regulations, and cultural sensitivities.
Other Services:

Constant Communication: Regular communication with the client via email, phone, or video calls. Availability to address client questions and provide updates on case study progress.

Online and In-Person Meetings: Hold online or in-person meetings with the client as needed. Discuss the case study, provide feedback, and ensure project alignment. The consultant will work in tandem with the monitoring and evaluation consultant to seamlessly integrate evaluation data, fostering a comprehensive and impactful multimedia case study for the Belizing Tourism Innovation Lab Project.

Deliverables for Multimedia Case Study Consultant 

Month 1: Planning and Initial Development

  • Conduct a needs assessment with the client to comprehend project goals, objectives, and key messages. Review project documentation, reports, and related materials.
  • Develop a creative and engaging narrative emphasizing key messages. Write the case study narrative and create scripts for videos and animations.
  • Collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation consultant to identify and integrate relevant evaluation data into the case study.
  • Begin conducting interviews with key project stakeholders, including project leads, technology experts, educators, and beneficiaries.
Month 2: Content Production
  • Continue conducting interviews with key project stakeholders.

  • Produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, photos, and animations. Collaborate with videographers, photographers, and animators to create informative and engaging content.
  • Commence the editing of video and audio content, assembling it into a final case study video.
  • Enhance the final video with music, sound effects, and graphics to ensure a polished and professional product.
Month 3: Finalization and Delivery

  • Complete the editing and assembly of the case study video.
  • Deliver the final case study video to the client in the preferred format.
  • Ensure strict compliance with ethical standards, data privacy regulations, and cultural sensitivities throughout the case study development.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to the client on promoting and sharing the case study.
Other Services:
  • Maintain constant communication with the client via email, phone, or video calls, addressing questions, and providing regular updates on case study progress.
  • Conduct online or in-person meetings with the client as needed to discuss the case study, offer feedback, and ensure project alignment.
Additional Deliverables:
  • Submit monthly progress reports detailing the status of activities and milestones achieved.
  • Provide a comprehensive final report at the conclusion of the contract.
This is a preliminary list of deliverables, subject to potential adjustments based on the specific requirements of the Belizing Tourism Innovation Lab and the consultant's expertise and experience.
 
Min Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in multimedia production, communication, journalism, marketing, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in producing multimedia case studies, documentaries, or similar projects;
  • Strong storytelling, scriptwriting, and content development skills;
  • Familiarity with the tourism, technology, and education sectors;
  • Proficiency in multimedia production tools and software, including video editing, graphic design, and animation;
  • Strong interview and research skills;
  • Ability to manage and coordinate projects;
  • Ability to analyze data and present insights;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Commitment to ethical standards and cultural sensitivity;
  • Portfolio of previous work in multimedia production, specifically in the context of case studies or similar storytelling projects.

  • Technical Proposal: A technical proposal that includes a detailed work plan and proposed timeline for completing the consultancy.
  • Financial Proposal: A financial proposal that includes a detailed budget for the consultancy, including your consultancy fee and any other reimbursable costs.
  • Consultant CV: A CV for the lead consultant and any other team members who will be involved in the project. The CV should include each consultant's education, experience, and relevant skills.
  • Evidence of Previous Work: Evidence of similar previous work done in the Monitoring and Evaluation of projects in Belize. This could include case studies, testimonials from clients, or letters of recommendation.
  • Reference Letters: Two (2) reference letters from previous clients or employers.
