Here, we transition from our traditional skiff to a comfortable and shaded catamaran, featuring improved seating arrangements and safety railings for everyone, especially the children. This upgrade provides a better vantage point for a truly enjoyable trip up the Monkey River.
At 9:00 am, our local guide shares over a century's worth of captivating history about Monkey River Town. Discover how this town, alongside Belize City, played a pivotal role in the inception of the logging industry. Monkey River Town was also the birthplace of the banana industry, contributing significantly to the development of what was formerly known as British Honduras, now Belize.
The highlight of the tour awaits as we embark on a leisurely river cruise up the Monkey River. This tranquil journey allows us to spot a variety of wildlife at a relaxed pace. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of Howler Monkeys, Crocodiles, River Otters, numerous bird species, Iguanas, basalis, and the potential for many more captivating encounters with wildlife.
About midday, we head back to Alice's restaurant for our lunch. After lunch, we head back to Placencia, where we do a manatee watch on the way. After the manatee watch, we drop off at the same spot we pick up from.

Fishing Experience
This Tour normally starts by us heading out fishing.
Note: we normally do trolling or bottom fishing as requested by our guests. For trolling we normally target, barracuda, snappers orjacks. And for bottom fishing we normally target snappers, Jack’s, grunts ,grouper.
Lunch at Monkey River
As the clock approaches 11:00 AM, we make our way to Alice's Restaurant along the scenic Monkey River for a delightful lunch. Savor local flavors while basking in the tranquil ambiance of the river.
Wildlife Tour
Post-lunch, we embark on a wildlife tour along the winding Monkey River. Keep your eyes open for howler monkeys swinging through the trees, crocodiles basking in the sun, and turtles gliding gracefully through the water. With a keen eye, you might spot colorful iguanas and a diverse array of birds.
Enjoy a leisurely exploration of the broadleaf rainforest, where we’ll highlight various medicinal plants, trees, and fruits, enriching your understanding of this vibrant ecosystem.
Scenic Return
As we cruise back along the picturesque coastline to Placencia, don’t miss the chance to spot playful manatees in their natural habitat. We’ll return you to your original pickup spot, concluding our adventure around 3:30-4:00 PM.

We normally depart from one of our convenient pickup locations at 8:00 AM, heading out toward the beautiful Bullock Islands and Snake Cayes within the stunning Port Honduras Marine Reserve.
Snorkeling Experience
Our first stop takes you into the crystal clear waters for an exciting snorkeling session. Explore vibrant coral habitats while searching for lobster, conch, and a variety of tropical fish species including butterfly fish, damsel fish, and blue chromis. Many of these species are abundant in this protected marine reserve and less commonly seen in other areas.
After the first snorkeling session, guests can relax on the island or aboard the boat for approximately 30 minutes, enjoying the peaceful surroundings before heading back into the water for a second snorkeling experience.
Lunch at Monkey River
Around 11:00 AM, we make our way to the historic Monkey River Village, where we stop at Alice’s Restaurant for lunch. Enjoy a delicious local meal while taking in the relaxing atmosphere along the riverside.
Monkey River Wildlife Tour
After lunch, we continue with a guided wildlife tour up the Monkey River. Along the way, keep an eye out for howler monkeys, crocodiles, turtles, iguanas, and a wide variety of birds and other wildlife species that call this area home.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the broadleaf rainforest, where your guide will point out medicinal plants, native trees, and tropical fruits while sharing insights into the local ecosystem and traditional uses of the forest.
Scenic Coastal Return
Following the river cruise, we head back along the coastline toward Placencia with a chance to spot manatees along the way. We return to the same location where the tour began, arriving approximately between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.
