Manatee Lodge is located at the tip of the peninsula which is Gales Point Manatee Village. The neighboring Caribbean Sea which feeds into the lagoon is approximately 10 min. by boat. Its virtually uninhabited beach comprises one of the largest nesting grounds for the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle in the region. Nesting season is May - October. It is time to unplug! Hideaway Caye is a beautiful secluded mangrove island right in the middle of one of the most untouched reefs in the Carribean. The island has been kept in it's natural state. Your stay at Hideaway Caye will be unique because you will be the only guests staying on the island. The cabana is like a treehouse nestled in the mangroves with a breezy veranda and floor to ceiling windows. Fall asleep while listening to the wind and waves lapping against the shoreline. The cabana is equipped with a queen size bed. There is also a futon in the bed for an extra guest.
FAQ:
How do I get to Hideaway Caye? From Belize International Airport you can take a local flight (Tropic or Maya Air) to Dangregia Airstrip. From there you can take a taxi to Sittee River Marina (Hopkin's Village) Where we pick up around noon.
Is pick-up always at noon? Time can vary an hour here or there. Usual weather patterns the wind picks up in the afternoon. It is also more relaxing when traveling to spend a night in Hopkins Village before your trip out to Hideaway Caye.
How long should I stay? Most people think that 2 days is not enough. If you want time to decompress, unplug, and get in all the snorkeling and kayaking you want 3 to 4 days is just right.
Can I have more than 2 people? The cabana has a queen size bed and a futon. We have fit 4 people snuggly. Price is based on double occupancy. There is an additional charge of $100 USD per person per night.
What is included? Your stay at Hideaway Caye includes your one time transport to and from Sittee River Marina. It also includes 3 meals a day, unlimited use of kayaks, snorkeling gear and paddleboards. Belize Tourism tax and marine park fees are also included. Alcoholic beverages and sodas are an additional charge.
What should I bring? Sunblock (ideally reef safe) your bathing suit, beach towel, snacks, money for your bar tab and your sense of adventure.
The restaurant and bar are open to the public but rest assured you will be the only other people staying on the island. Wi-Fi is available at an additional charge.

Also, this property comes with a new 12' fiberglass boat and outboard engine which can be used along the shore to fish, sight see, and snorkel on a coral reef just a few hundred yards off our private beach.
The dive master will provide the service of picking up your friends and family at the pier with his boat and any additional diving gear (tanks with air, BCs, etc.) or equipment that you may need. From the pier right outside your back door he will take you as a private group snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and fishing at the very best locations. If you wish to snorkel, dive, fish or just sit in the pristine blue Caribbean water off one of the many sandy islands then that’s all up to you. When you come back at the end of the day all you have to do is walk down the pier to the beach house, and end your day cooking the lobsters and fish on a stainless steel 7 burners BBQ. The dive master will prepare the lobsters and fillet the fish for your BBQ cooking feasts!
This property can be reached by driving from Belize City which is a beautiful drive with stunning views, or take a 20 minute flight on Tropic or Maya Airlines from Belize City to the Placencia Airport. From the Placencia Airport one can rent a car or take a taxi to the beach house.
