The Belize Zoo measures approximately 29 acres in size with plenty of space to create comfortable habitats for the animals. The Belize Zoo plays an important role in helping educate both foreign visitors and locals alike about the wide diversity of fauna in the country and the importance of protecting and preserving it.
Founded in 1983, the Belize Zoo is the first facility of its kind to be fully accessible to individuals with reduced or impaired mobility. Animals at the zoo include birds such as parrots, keel-billed toucans, giant harpy eagles, scarlet macaws, vultures, and the endangered Jabiru Stork. The Belize Zoo is also home to reptiles and amphibians, including crocodiles, snakes, salamanders, frogs, and lizards.
Mammals found at the zoo include all five of Belize’s big cat species: jaguars, margays, ocelots, coatis, and jaguarundis. Other mammals found at the zoo include black howler monkeys, gibnuts, tapirs, and the famous kinkajou, sometimes referred to as the “nightwalker.”
There is also a gift shop located on the premises of the zoo. Income from visitor admissions helps the zoo fund its educational programs for the youth of Belize as well as conservation programs such as its jaguar rehabilitation program and harpy eagle restoration program. Proceeds also help fund the Belize Zoo’s continuing mission to provide care for injured, orphaned and abandoned animals from all across the country.
The Belize Zoo is located approximately a 30-minute drive west of Belize City and receives over 68,000 visitors every year.

After touring the temples, we drive to No’och Che’ en Cave, where you will start off on an easy hike through the jungle to your starting point. As you sit back and enjoy tubing downstream, you will be floating through a series of remarkable limestone caves, each filled with fascinating discoveries of the Mayan underworld. There is also an opportunity to leave your tubes behind and go exploring cave chambers, where you will see ceramic pieces and beautiful geological formations. The adventure ends floating downstream through the jungles of Belize; back at the starting point.

This tour includes an entire day filled with adventure. We start our day by heading down to the northern part of Ambergris Caye. On our way to Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve, we cross ... morea fringing reef called Rocky Point. Once we arrive at the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve we then do two snorkeling stops. One is done at the channel and the second one is done at Barracuda Alley. After a fun day of snorkeling, we stop at the beach to eat delicious rice and beans. Once the food is served and everyone is happy, we jump onboard and make our way through the river that splits Mexico with Belize. While crossing, be on the lookout for birds, fishes, rays, and sometimes even manatees. After exiting the river, we stop at the information section where you learn some history from the Mayans and the island of Ambergris Caye. This information site has a tower that you can climb. The view from up there is amazing. After leaving the information center, we make our way from the back part of the island. If the group is not tired, we can stop at an isolated beach for the kids and family to swim a little. The total cost for this tour is $600 USD for the charter. Cost includes 6 persons and any additional is $100.00 USD.

You get to ride on Jungle trails heading to the different Plazas. where you will learn of its importance in Maya history. Depending on the water level you get to ride in the river. After the ride, we will drive 10 minutes to the site of Xunantunich. At the top of the highest temple, you'll behold a spectacular view, and miles of rainforest as well you will spot the border town of Benque Viejo (Belize) and neighboring Melchor de Mencos (Guatemala).

Our tour is an all-day tour, we depart our dive center at 9 am and return at 3:30 pm We depart to a private island for the day, (a 50-minute boat ride). ... more
Here we drop off snorkelers who snorkel off the beach of the Island, while the divers go off the Boat, your first dive and snorkel last approximately 50 minutes. After this, we then prepare our finger-licking island bbq on the island for lunch.
After an hour of lunch and enjoying the island, we then go for a second dive and snorkel, also lasting approximately 50 minutes, when this is completed, the entire group ( both snorkelers and divers) gets back on the boat and go to Turtle alley, where we swim with Turtles, Rays and Nurse Sharks for about 25 minutes. (turtle alley snorkel is only done when tours go to Silk Caye)
When this is completed we then head back to the mainland
