Manatee Lodge is located at the tip of the peninsula which is Gales Point Manatee Village. This 2 1/2 mile stretch of land reaches out into the middle of the Southern Lagoon which boasts reserve status for the endangered West Indian Manatee and is home to a multitude of birds, plants and animals. The neighboring Caribbean Sea which feeds into the lagoon is approximately 10 min. by boat. Its virtually uninhabited beach comprises one of the largest nesting grounds for the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle in the region. Nesting season is May - October.
