"Renowned for its abundant wildlife, bellowing waterfalls, and idyllic pools, the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve is over 100,000 acres of protected forest. Enjoy a day exploring Belize’s largest national park starting with the Hidden Valley area where you’ll visit the picturesque 1000-foot waterfalls which can be viewed from a lookout deck. At your next stop, you will go on a short hike to Rio Frio Cave, the source of the Rio Frio River and the largest cave entrance in Belize. You will be amazed by the stalactite and stalagmite formations. As soon as you enter you will see huge stalactites hanging from the massive cathedral-like vault which was part of a cave system that the Maya used to bury their dead.
Your next stop is at Rio On Pools, a series of shimmering natural swimming holes and rock waterslides that allow for cooling relaxation, and meditation. Enjoy a water massage from cascading waterfalls that run over a wide riverbed and smooth granite rocks. We take a homemade picnic lunch break at the pools, followed by a short drive to our next destination, the fabulous Big Rock Falls, a 150-foot waterfall on Privassion Creek. After a 20 minutes hike including numerous wooden stairways and climbing over boulders, you will arrive at the bottom where the 150-foot waterfall stands. This waterfall is a sight to behold and after your hike, the cool spray of mist from the waterfall is refreshing as you swim in the clear, deep pool below. "
