Water’s Edge is located 5 miles north of San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye. Water’s Edge has a 250’ dock with palapa, lounge chairs, swim platform and fish cleaning table. The four bedrooms upstairs in the main house are spacious and comfortable. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds and one has twins with the option of making into a king. Also, one of the bedrooms has bunk beds for those families with small children. The optional fifth bedroom is the apartment downstairs. It has twin beds that can be made into a king with a full kitchen and bath. The optional apartment rents for an additional $175 per night. There are numerous DVD’s in the entertainment center. The house has a 600 sq ft veranda with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea and Barrier Reef. You can enjoy the view and breeze from there or enjoy a meal on one of the two large dining tables. There are three double kayaks, two paddle boards, inner tubes, four bicycles and a corn hole game for your enjoyment. There is a provisioning service should you want food and drinks at the house upon your arrival. Edvin, the caretaker, can assist you in the cooking of your catch should you go fishing. After our first trip to Ambergris Caye, my wife and I returned at least seven or eight times before decided to build Diamond Reef. Diamond Reef is a small resorts consisting of two 2 bedroom condos and one 3 bedroom condo.
All of the condos are beachfront units with large 24x12 foot verandas overlooking the Caribbean Sea. We offer complimentary two man Kayaks that can be taken out to the reef and snorkel everyday as much as we wish. And it’s all free!
The condos were designed in the Spanish style, befitting the Caribbean location. Arches grace the verandas and doorways throughout the Condos. Elegant Mexican tile work accents all the floors both inside and out, again in keeping with the Caribbean theme.
We have arguable, one of the finest natural beaches on the Island. Wishing to preserve the natural beauty of the area, we resisted building sea walls. Instead, our architect and building contractor, carefully angled the condos 12 degrees north. This position not only catches the cooling effect of the prevailing trade wind but also creates a more expansive natural beach stretching from the front of the condos to the water as can be seen from the photos. There may only be a handful of locations, if any, that can match this in size or natural splendor.
