Casa Edgell faces the Placencia Lagoon with easy access to beaches and nearby dining. Great for families or a group of friends! WiFi, full kitchen (if you feel like cooking), 2 bathrooms, verandah (open the bedroom trunk for hammocks). You'll find a washer and dryer in the utility room, along with a pair of bicycles.
Check out the snorkeling, scuba, fishing or just sunbathe! Tour guides in Placencia can help you arrange excursions inland as well. The village is great for strolling, souvenir shopping, dining , drinking and hanging out with friendly local folks!
The house is between the villages Placencia and Seine Bight, a short walk to The Inn at Robert's Grove and across from the marina at The Moorings. For groceries and supplies, you'll find supermarkets and produce stands in both villages.

Operated mainly as a fishing island through its early years, the Sabals have worked to build the island up over the past fifteen years to invite tourism. Billy Hawk Caye as we know it is the only Garifuna cultural island in Belize and possibly in the world which is yet still true to their roots. This island paradise is conveniently located fourteen miles southeast of the culture capital Dangriga town, and nine miles east of Hopkins village. Alex and his sister, Jackie along with their extended family spends a good portion of their years on the island, still fishing when not entertaining guests.
Included in your visit is also the opportunity to spend time learning to fish as the local Belizeans with hand line. When in season, you can join in the hunt for lobster or conch, learn how to clean your conch and also help Jackie prepare your fresh sea food meal. We can also take a short swim from off the beach of your private island where sits a healthy coral reef great for snorkeling. At the last night of your stay you can join in our cultural night where you can learn how to play our local drums, dance and sing.

The main house sleeping accommodations include 3 Queen size beds on first floor, and Queen bed and 2 twin beds on second floor. As a bonus, a new guest house just a few steps away from the main house is available at no additional cost which sleeps 2 and includes an additional bathroom, kitchen, and living space with 47" TV and DVD player.
Sports equipment is provided which includes several kayaks, snorkeling gear, and the best in fishing rods and reels. This equipment can be enjoyed right off our private beach and 130’ long pier and palapa. Additionally, for those interested in the best in offshore SCUBA diving, snorkeling, and fishing, the owner has set up a low contract price with a local reputable dive master and guide. Also, this property comes with a new 12' fiberglass boat and outboard engine which can be used along the shore to fish, sight see, and snorkel on a coral reef just a few hundred yards off our private beach.
The dive master will provide the service of picking up your friends and family at the pier with his boat and any additional diving gear (tanks with air, BCs, etc.) or equipment that you may need. From the pier right outside your back door he will take you as a private group snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and fishing at the very best locations. If you wish to snorkel, dive, fish or just sit in the pristine blue Caribbean water off one of the many sandy islands then that’s all up to you. When you come back at the end of the day all you have to do is walk down the pier to the beach house, and end your day cooking the lobsters and fish on a stainless steel 7 burners BBQ. The dive master will prepare the lobsters and fillet the fish for your BBQ cooking feasts!
This property can be reached by driving from Belize City which is a beautiful drive with stunning views, or take a 20 minute flight on Tropic or Maya Airlines from Belize City to the Placencia Airport. From the Placencia Airport one can rent a car or take a taxi to the beach house.
