About Location
The Museum of Belize is an art and history museum. Located in Belize City, this museum was built between the years of 1854 and 1857 while Belize was still under Britain's rule, and initially served as a prison. It was later transformed to The Museum of Belize in 2002. The museum is divided into three sections: History, Exhibits and Activities. The museum of Belize strives to provide inclusive history and learning experiences of Belize's history and Culture.

To the east of the property is a natural Estuary that has emerald green waters of the river thriving with many fish species, manatees and is the “baby making” spot for many fishes. At the mouth of this beautifully landscaped resort is the Caribbean Sea with awesome views of the many changing colors of the sea. Walk along our in resort streets as the white beach sand squish between your toes as you take in the breath-taking views of this unspoiled area surrounded by 40ft tall White Mangroves or look up to see the many Parrots, Hummingbirds or Seagulls flying by.

Poor excuse for a museum
NO Mayan artifacts as they were removed a long time ago according to the docent! Only old bottles, stuffed birds, modern paintings and a history of slavery. Not worth the entry fee
