Host of the Belize Travelcast, Javier Gutierrez, sits down for an extended interview with Jim Scott, proprietor of Hospitality Training Services Belize and the 501 Hub Belize. They talk about the array of new branded resorts and hotel developments in Belize including Hyatt, Wyndham, Hilton, Marriott, Four Seasons, and others. Jim is a stalwart of the Belize Tourism Industry through his many years of experience since he arrived in Belize in 1987 and made it his home. 

As Belize’s tourism industry continues to grow, so does the need for heightened standards of service in Belize. Travelers demand a certain level of service, and Jim and his partner Lorena are at the forefront of brining internationally recognized certifications and training to Belize. Together with organizations such as the Belize Tourism Board, Belize Hotel Association, and the Belize Tourism Industry Association, Belize’s tourism product continues to be improved through upliftment of the most important resource of Belize….its people. 

Jim and Lorena travel all over the world providing training services to hotels, private organizations, universities, and other entities. They offer their services in Belize to the benefit of the country by taking the level of service to international standards. In this episode, Jim explains the importance of Training to improve tourism in Belize in the spirit of sustainable tourism so that it benefits the economy, culture, and environment of Belize.
