Experience more than a cave! Imagine a world alive and imbued with sacred power divided into three domains: the starry arch of heaven; the stony middle world of the earth made to flower ... moreand bear fruits; and, the dark waters of the underworld below, Xibalba.

A short swim through the crystal blue waters will lead you into this amazing realm. Then working your way through a breakdown leads you into the main water passage, where you get to view amazing geological formations like sparkling stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstones. This hidden chamber promises to reveal ancient secrets and geological processes that have helped to shape the Mayan Underworld known as Xibalba. Xibalba was the fearful world beneath the face of the earth, the parallel unseen world into which kings and shamans could enter an ecstatic trance and please their gods for their benefit.

Are you ready to take on the challenge? Are you prepared to do something out of your comfort zone? A place where only the adventurous at heart decide to venture; Crystal Cave also ... moreknown as Mountain Cow allows you to experience what real caving is about.

Crystal Cave is the entrance to the mystical and most sacred area in the Maya Pantheon. This adventure starts with a rigorous hike through the lush tropical forest and a rugged limestone landscape. Crystal Cave is one of the largest cave systems in Belize located within the Blue Hole National Park. This cave system has huge caverns that are adorned with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, flowstones, rock columns, crystalline formations, and Mayan artifacts. As we explore the cave, we witness evidence of rituals and ceremonies that took place over a thousand years ago like potteries, beads, obsidian blades, fire pits, charcoal ash, and evidence of human remains calcified in the limestone floor. Each step you take goes back further in time to when Shamans and Priest journeyed into the portal to the underworld which they called Xibalba.

The splendorous Caracol was the largest metropolis in the Maya lowlands of ancient times. A world in which the gods demanded rituals, and ceremonies and believed that every inanimate ... moreor animate object had a spirit of its own. Time hangs in space at Caracol. Located deep within the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, you will enjoy the flora and fauna that along with stunning scenery on the way, will enhance the true beauty of this magnificent Maya center. We will take you along a forest trail giving you the experience of a lifetime as we recount the history of nobles and peasants living in a mystic world. The trees and forest have taken over guarding the secrets of this place where our ancestors once gazed at the stars, plotted wars, designed and built magnificent structures, developed agricultural practices, and conducted their most sacred rituals. You will visit ancient courtyards, ball courts, residential complexes, and a complete astronomical observatory.

Caracol is the largest Maya archaeological site in Belize. In AD 650, the urban area of Caracol had a radius of approximately 10 kilometers around the center of the site. Caracol maintained a population of over 140,000 people through the creation of an immense agricultural field system and through elaborate city planning. Caracol is noted not only for its size during the Maya Classic era (A.D. 250-950) but also for its prowess in war; this includes an AD 562 defeat of Tikal and the subsequent conquest of Naranjo.
