This exciting day begins as we make our way to the mainland and up the Belize River. As we ride through the river you will encounter wildlife like crocodiles, iguanas ... more& manatees while we serve a continental breakfast.
Next, we board a private bus & make our way to Caves Branch. Once there it’s time to “Zip” through eight levels in the jungle. After lunch, we head to the caves, where you will put on a headlamp, hop in your tube and float your way through the cave system.

The experienced, licensed tour guide will provide interesting facts on the geology of the formations, the cave history as well as the importance of caves in Maya history and culture. After exploring the ruins we drive to Franks Eddie where we will immediately have lunch, next we gear up and hike 20 minutes (1 WAY ONLY) through the lush rainforest with running streams rich tropical plants, and wild diverse wildlife. Arriving, you then descend below the surface of the earth to Xibalba – the sacred world of caves. There you will begin to explore the mystery of caves and the Maya ritual ceremonies on floating tubes and meander through the cool waters of these Maya caverns with hidden pottery, glittering rim stone dams, and waterfall all at your suspense.

Upon arrival, your guide will lead you to the zip line facility, where you will be expertly fitted with a harness, safety helmet, and gloves. After a brief instruction, you will be guided to the zip line platform for a major adrenaline rush as you zoom through the trees on 10 zip lines. Once you have experienced the rainforest from the air, you will be outfitted with a helmet, adjustable headlamp, life jacket, and inner tube for the cave tubing portion of the tour. After a quick safety briefing on tubing skills, you will be escorted through the lush rainforest and sacred caves, where the Mayans believed deities and ancestors inhabited. Throughout the walk, your guide will point out plants and animals that are native to the area.
Once at the Caves Branch River, you will explore the rainforest by water as your hour-long tubing adventure takes you through a mixture of calm and fast-moving waters. If conditions permit, you will float past waterfalls into the cave systems. Enter cathedral-sized chambers and listen in amazement to the echoes of your voice while you observe the magnificent stalactites, stalagmites, and unusual limestone structures reflected by your headlamp.
Following your tubing adventure, you will head to a local restaurant where you can purchase a delicious homemade lunch of typical Belizean food, such as stewed chicken, rice and beans, and banana bread (if time permits). Please be advised that lunch is not included in the price of the tour. Furthermore, on the Belize excursion, you will wander the grounds under the swaying coconut palms and sacred Guanacaste trees before you return back to port. Tubing through Belize's unique underground cave system is the must-do tour in Belize. After meeting your Belize guide, you will walk to your air-conditioned transportation for the ... moreapproximately one-hour drive to the Caves Branch River and its winding path through the Mayan Mountains and numerous ancient caves.
After picking up your tube, you will walk down to the adjacent river. This will be the spot where you finish your float. You will start the adventure by wading across the river, holding onto a rope strung across the water. From here, you will set out on a 30-minute walk along a jungle trail over loose gravel. Guests must be in good shape and able to keep up with the guide on this Belize excursion.
At the entrance of the underground cave system, your guide will hand out miner's lamps before you enter the water. You will float along on the gentle current that will take you through the cave system. Intricate crystalline formations line the cave, and the majestic rise and fall of stalagmites and stalactites add to the serene opulence of nature. The floating part of the adventure lasts approximately two hours, depending on the current, and brings you back to the starting location of your Belize excursion.
After the float, walk back up to the transportation for the drive to the pier.
Please Note: As the river bottom is rocky, you must wear shoes (sneakers or water shoes) while tubing, and they will get wet. Do not forget a towel and dry shoes for after the tour. Guests with special dietary requirements may need to bring a snack or power bar, as the tour duration is five hours. Guests must be a minimum age of 8 years old and 48" in height.
