When travelers ask for the best adventure tours in Belize, they usually expect a recommendation for a single activity. However,
Excalibur Adventure Park has changed the game by consolidating a week’s worth of adrenaline into a single day. Located at Mile 15 on the Coastal Highway, the park is strategically positioned for anyone staying in Belize City, Belmopan, or the southern hubs of Hopkins and Placencia.
On May 1, the Belizing team headed out to stress-test the park’s offerings. We weren't alone; we were joined by families with young kids and a corporate team from Caribbean Tires’ Dangriga branch. Watching these two very different groups tackle the same rugged terrain proved one thing: Excalibur isn't just for "hardcore" athletes; it’s designed for anyone with a bit of grit and a sense of wonder.
To get there, we tapped our partners at
Belize Ground Shuttle for the ride. If you’ve driven the Coastal Highway recently, you know it’s a scenic route, but having a professional driver meant we could save our energy for the limestone cliffs instead of the road.
A Belize Adventure Park for Families, Groups, and Thrill Seekers
One of the first things that stood out about Excalibur Adventure Park was how well the property caters to different types of visitors.
While the park is known for its adrenaline-filled activities, it also creates a comfortable environment for families and groups spending the entire day onsite. For younger visitors, the Panthera Playground offers a mini obstacle-course-style experience inspired by the park’s larger adventures. Kids can climb, explore, and stay engaged while still feeling part of the action.
The property also includes shaded seating areas and hammocks where guests can relax between activities while enjoying Belize’s natural surroundings. These thoughtful spaces create a balance between adventure and relaxation, making the park welcoming for visitors of all ages.
Before starting the activities, the guides gathered everyone together for a safety briefing. Helmets, harnesses, and safety equipment were distributed carefully while the team explained how each system worked.
One guide reminded participants: “Please follow all rules and regulations. This is for your safety and the safety of the guides.”
The professionalism and attention to safety immediately helped participants feel comfortable, especially first-time adventurers preparing for the activities ahead.
Ziplining Through Belize’s Jungle Canopy
The first major activity of the day was ziplining through Belize’s lush jungle canopy.
For many participants, it was the perfect introduction to the adventure ahead. Suspended above the forest floor, riders glided from platform to platform while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding tropical landscape.
Some participants approached the first platform with nervous excitement, especially younger visitors and those less comfortable with heights. However, after the first ride, nervousness quickly transformed into confidence and excitement.
The zipline course delivered the perfect combination of adrenaline and scenery. The rush of soaring through the air while surrounded by Belize’s jungle views created an unforgettable experience for both first-time and experienced adventurers.
The guides maintained an encouraging and fun atmosphere while ensuring all safety procedures were followed carefully at every station.
For the Belizing team, the ziplining experience highlighted why Belize adventure tourism continues to grow in popularity. It offers travelers an exciting way to experience the country’s natural beauty beyond traditional sightseeing tours.
Conquering the Via Ferrata Course in Belize
After ziplining, the adventure shifted into one of the most exciting parts of the day: the via ferrata course.
For travelers unfamiliar with via ferrata, it combines climbing, secured pathways, suspension bridges, footholds, and safety cable systems that allow participants to safely navigate cliffside terrain while enjoying incredible elevated views. Built into limestone formations surrounded by dense jungle, the course felt both physically challenging and rewarding.
At first glance, some sections looked intimidating, especially for first-time participants. However, the guides carefully demonstrated how to use the equipment and remained nearby throughout the activity. We watched as parents encouraged children across suspension bridges while coworkers from Caribbean Tires motivated each other through the more challenging climbing sections.
There were moments filled with nervous laughter, moments where participants paused to admire the jungle scenery, and moments where people surprised themselves by overcoming fears of heights. What made the via ferrata experience especially memorable was the surrounding environment. Towering trees, limestone cliffs, and elevated jungle views gave the course a cinematic atmosphere that felt completely immersive.
Rather than feeling like a standard obstacle course, the via ferrata experience felt like a true Belize jungle expedition.
Refueling at Billy Webb Bar and Grill
After completing the via ferrata course, the group took a well-deserved break at Billy Webb Bar and Grill, located on the property.
Following a physically active morning, the lunch stop allowed everyone to relax, recharge, and talk about the morning’s adventures.
One thing that immediately stood out was the restaurant’s extensive menu selection. Guests had a variety of meal options to choose from, making it easy for families and groups with different preferences to find something enjoyable before continuing the day’s activities.
The relaxed atmosphere and shaded seating areas made Billy Webb Bar and Grill the perfect midpoint before heading into the cave exploration portion of the adventure.
Exploring the Underground Beauty of Copali Cave
After lunch, the group prepared for one of the most fascinating experiences of the day: exploring Copali Cave. Equipped with helmets and lights, participants entered a completely different environment hidden beneath Belize’s forests.
Inside the cave, the atmosphere changed immediately. Cooler temperatures, echoing chambers, and massive limestone formations created a sense of mystery and excitement as guides led the group deeper underground.
The cave itself featured incredible natural formations shaped over thousands of years. Smooth limestone walls, flowing rock patterns, stalactites, and dramatic cave chambers gave the underground environment an almost surreal appearance.
One especially memorable moment came when participants spotted cave wildlife, including bats and large cave scorpion spiders resting within the chambers. These encounters added another layer to the experience and served as a reminder of Belize’s rich underground ecosystems.
As the group moved deeper into the cave, helmet lights illuminated stunning rock textures and hidden formations throughout the darkness. The contrast between the bright jungle outside and the cool underground environment made the cave exploration feel like stepping into another world entirely.
For many participants, Copali Cave became one of the highlights of the entire day because it combined adventure, geology, wildlife, and exploration all in one experience.
Ending the Day with River Tubing in Belize
After hours of climbing, hiking, ziplining, and cave exploration, the final activity of the day offered the perfect opportunity to unwind: river tubing.
Floating through Belize’s jungle waterways gave everyone the chance to slow down and enjoy the peaceful side of the landscape after such an active day.
The calm pace of the tubing experience contrasted perfectly with the adrenaline-filled activities earlier in the itinerary. Participants drifted along the river surrounded by tropical greenery while conversations, laughter, and storytelling continued between groups.
For the Belizing team, river tubing felt like the ideal ending to a full day of adventure in Belize. It allowed everyone to appreciate the country’s natural beauty in a relaxing and immersive way.
What makes Excalibur Adventure Park stand out is the variety of experiences packed into one destination.
Instead of focusing on a single attraction, the park combines ziplining, via ferrata climbing, cave exploration, river tubing, family-friendly activities, and relaxation into one complete Belize adventure experience.
Whether you are traveling with family, friends, coworkers, or as a couple, the park offers something for every type of traveler.
- Families looking for adventurous things to do in Belize
- Corporate and team-building groups
- Travelers wanting multiple activities in one location
- First-time adventurers seeking guided experiences
- Visitors wanting to explore Belize beyond traditional tours
Belize is filled with incredible natural attractions, but experiences like this allow visitors to truly connect with the country’s landscapes in exciting and unforgettable ways.
