Safe Corridor Expanded to include Tourists visiting other Gold Standard Restaurants

By 9/30/2020

As we near October 1 and the reopening of the international airport, the health and safety protocols for tourists continue to be reviewed to ensure that visitors will get to experience as much of Belize as possible.  On this premise, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) discussed your request made on the webinar and is pleased to provide the following update regarding Gold Standard Hotels:

  • Provision has been made to allow guests staying at Gold Standard hotels to visit other Gold Standard hotel restaurants for meals.  It is recommended that guests seek the assistance of the Gold Standard hotel at which they are staying to make the necessary arrangements such as reservations and transportation.

  • Kindly note that only Gold Standard approved transport such as hotel transport or an approved Gold Standard tour operator can transport guests from one property to the next.
Food embodies cultural identity and has proven to be a very important part of the travel experience. This adjustment will allow visitors to be able to partake in a more diverse offering of delicious Belizean cuisine within the safe corridor.
