This is a large hardwood cabana built right on the edge of the Placencia lagoon. It has a full kitchen with fridge freezer, 4 ring stove and oven, coffee machine and more. The bathroom ... morehas a hot/cold shower, toilet and vanity unit. The open plan living area has a queen bed, futon couch and plenty of storage for both hanging and folded items. There are fans in the kitchen, bedroom and living areas. We have recently added air conditioning - please note there is a $10/night additional charge if you wish to use it.
There is a screened door that leads out onto a full screened-in porch with table and chairs and hammock. Under the building is a washing machine and drying line for your use.
The cabana shares the lot with two other cabanas. One cabin has the owner and their awesome two children plus three legged rescue dog - Dude - living there full time. It has the lagoon in front, and canals on either side, adding to the tranquillity of the area.
The property is at the end of a shaded road, with water on three sides. There are plenty of trees, including Mango, Sapodilla, Cashew, Noni, Almond, Coconut and more, all of which attract a variety of birds, iguanas and more.

The sanctuary headquarters occupies the site of the old logging camp at Quarn Bank. Facilities in place are dormitory-style lodging for 24 people, a kitchen area, visitor centre and common room for slide shows, a gift shop, campground and equipment rental outlet, and freshwater and toilet facilities. 2 backcountry campsites are also in place. The road to the centre is not paved, although its improvement is imminent and there is parking on site. Approximately 12 miles of nature trails have been cut through a variety of low scrub and forest areas immediately around Qum Bank. The longest trail is to The Outlier (4 miles) and takes a day to walk, although there is a 17 mile (4 day) walk to Victoria Peak, but its use is discouraged because of the potential hazard, lack of emergency facilities and previous abuse by past climbers.
