Here, a guide will lead you along the reef, pointing out the many interesting fish and coral formations. Mexico Rocks are shallow and protected by the barrier reef from ocean swells and are a great site for snorkelers to enjoy. Sip a refreshing drink on your return to Blue Tang Inn at 12 Noon or 5 pm. Morning fishing can be exceptional and the flats are only about a mile from the blue waters replenishing the flats constantly with fish bonefish, tarpons, and permits.

First, we stop at Mexico Rocks, a coral patch between the reef and the shores of Ambergris Caye, where you begin a snorkeling experience you won't forget. Snorkeling here is mainly boasted by the magnificent boulder formations of Brain Corals, Elk Horns, and Great Star Corals that provide shelter for tropical fishes and critters. Some of them include spiny lobsters, yellowtail snappers, and stingrays. A cave looking like a path is also found here where you will find hundreds of baby snappers staring at you while you glide over them.

There are many great snorkeling spots along the barrier reef. Some of the more popular spots are Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Shark Ray Alley, Coral Gardens, Mexico Rocks, and the Great Blue Hole.
Snorkeling along the reef, you can see many species of wildlife. There is an abundance of fish of different sizes, shapes, and colors. There are also many species of coral creating a home for a variety of sea life. At Shark Ray Alley, you can swim with the nurse sharks and stingrays. At Hol Chan, you can see big groups of fish. At the Blue Hole, you can see many species of sharks. There is always something incredible to see while snorkeling.

UNTOUCHED BEAUTY
Bacalar Chico is a reserve on the northern part of Ambergris Caye that includes reefs as well as land. In the morning we make our way along the leeward side of the ... moreisland to the ranger station in the reserve, where you will have a chance to see the flora on the northern part of the island.
We then head out to snorkel Barracuda Reef and Rocky Point before we head to Robles, where our guides will prepare lunch for you. After lunch, we'll explore the deserted beaches, relax in a hammock or chill out in our tree house.
