Today, The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center have settled upon 29 acres of tropical savanna and exhibits over 150 animals, representing over 45 species, all native to Belize. Your friendly Tour Guide will meet guests at Fort Street Tourism Village in Belize City and then will commence the tour by welcoming them to beautiful sunny Belize. He will then make ... morehis way through Belize City while giving them some brief history about Belize. He will then proceed on the George Price Highway which is a 40-minute drive out of the City and inform them about who George Price was and what he has done for our country.

Along the highway, guests will be able to see some small communities and some flora and fauna along the highways as well as some wetlands. You will then arrive at the Belize Zoo where your tour guide will allow you some time to use the restroom before you start the tour for about an hour. 

At the Belize Zoo, you will be able to see some native animals to Belize as well as some troublesome animals such as Jaguars and Crocodiles that were harming the livestock of our farmers. Some were donated to the Belize Zoo because they were illegal to have as pets, and others were rescued from the wild. From there you will continue on your way to Jaguar Paw where you will enjoy both the Rain Forest and the Underworld of the Mayas as you hike for about 30 minutes through the Rain Forest and your guide will point out different medicinal plants and their benefits that were once used by the Mayas and locals today. 

After your 30-minute hike, you will then sit in an inner tube and enjoy the refreshing cold river water that will carry you through the cave system. Your Guide will do all the work for you while he entertains and guides you through the cave system for about 2 hours. After your tour is finished you will then have lunch and make your way back to Belize City where you will be taken back to the Fort Street Tourism Village.

John’s College, Edward P Yorke High School, Nazarene High School, Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), Social Security Board, and Palotti High School. Then take the exit on the Phillip Goldson Highway heading in the Belize District about 30 miles north of Belize City on the Old Northern Highway and about 6 miles west of the shore of the Caribbean Sea.

Altun Ha was a wealthy ceremonial center boasting two main plazas, and thirteen structures (including the Temple of Sun God or the Temple of the Masonry Altars). Altun Ha is not very far from the Caribbean Sea and it formed part of a unique cultural zone along with other coastal sites. 

It is also where the Largest Jade was ever found in the Mayan Kingdom. During an excavation, Dr. David Pendergast, along with Mr. Wilhelm Leslie of Rockstone Pond, and another Belizean (Mr. Winston Herbert of Lucky Strike Village), discovered the famous jade sculpture of Kinich Ahau, in 1968. 

After visiting Altun Ha we head back towards Belize City where your Tour Guide will take you along the South side of Belize City where guests will be able to view life on the south side of the city and then will make a short stop at one of the oldest church in Central America, St. John’s Cathedral built in 1812, then will proceed back to the Fort Street Tourism Village.

The Caribbean shrimp farm is a small sustainable 266 acres farm surrounded by protected wetland habitat where shrimp are raised organically. These shrimp are harvested on the farm and sold locally here in Belize.

After your tour is completed you may purchase lunch and enjoy the Belizean dish of the day, then take the Phillip Goldson Highway back to the city where upon entering the City you can stop at the Travelers rum Factory for a short tour and free sample of Belizean rum and also purchase gift items. After leaving the Rum factory your Tour Guide will take you to the South Side of Belize City then stop at one of the oldest churches in Central America, St. John’s Cathedral built in 1812, then will proceed back to the Fort Street Tourism Village.

After your welcome, your guide will then make his way through Belize City. ... moreExpect to get a brief history of Belize as we make our way to the highway. Enjoy your 45-minute ride on the Phillip Goldson Highway where you will be given a wealth of information about each of the villages. Additionally, see how the locals pass their time throughout the day. Upon arriving at the Community Baboon Sanctuary, you will meet one of the local guides who will be conducting the howler monkey tour. 

You will be taken along the howler monkey trails where you will be given a brief history of how the Community Baboon Sanctuary came into existence. You will also learn about the Flora and Fauna in the area. Come in contact with different medicinal plants and their benefits that were once used by the Mayas and the locals of today. You will get a close encounter with the Howler Monkeys and hear their loud howl as if you are in the Jurassic Movie.

From there you will make your way back towards Burrell Boom Village where you will make a small stop to do some birding at the Black Orchid Resort. The Black Orchid Resort is the number 1 Resort in the Area and they boast approximately 100 different species of Birds that visit the property. They also have a Restaurant on the property if you would like to grab a bite or something to drink. You will then Head back to Belize City where your guide will take you back to the Fort Street Tourism Village.
