The Stann Creek District of Belize is known for beautiful landscapes, the world’s first jaguar reserve and rich cultures. Exploring Stann Creek, you’d be enticed by the Garifuna and Maya
culture that is prominently displayed by the cultural activities, intricate artworks and kind faces of the locals in the area.
For our Southern Belize adventures, we got the chance to explore the Mopan and Yucatec Maya culture with Mr. Ernesto and Mrs. Aurora from
Nuuk Che’il Cottages. Through food, medicine and spiritual healing, we got a glimpse of traditional Maya practices and their role in the Maya life.
