Meet a local artist who practices the ancient art of Mayan pottery and ceramic making. He or she will demonstrate the process of ceramics making, from shaping the clay to baking it. The Mayan people found natural pigments to make their beautiful, handmade pottery colorful. Learning how the process of ceramic making changed and developed throughout the periods, and how it is still practiced today. The local artist will even let you try your hand at making your own beautiful pottery- come take this fun and interactive class and come home with your own handmade souvenir!
