About Location
Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA) is Belize's only international airport. The airport is located 10 miles from Belize City in Ladyville, Belize District. PGIA is named after Philip S.W. Goldson, a Belizean politician who served as the country's first prime minister.
The airport is owned by the Government of Belize and Belize Airport Authority and operated by the Belize Airport Concession Company Limited under t a Concession Agreement. PGIA is a major economic driver for Belize, and it is the gateway to the country for tourists and business travelers.
The PGIA is served by a number of airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Tropic Air. The airport also has a number of cargo airlines that serve the region.
If you are planning to travel to Belize, you will most likely arrive at PGIA. The airport is a modern facility with all the amenities you need for a comfortable flight.

The drive to the airport is about 2.5 hours from Placencia, with a quick stop in Hopkins (if needed), and an optional bathroom break and convenience store thereafter. The drive traverses the newly constructed Coastal Highway, and no longer goes through Belmopan City.
In Hopkins, guests are picked up near the Hopkins Police Station. You may take a local taxi from your hotel (if needed). For guests coming from Placencia, individual pick-up from your hotel along the Placencia peninsula is included.

The drive to Placencia is about 2.5 hours, along the newly completed Coastal Highway, with an optional bathroom break and convenience store stop. Shuttle typically departs by 2:30pm, but may be sooner or later depending on pre-booked passengers. All passengers must be pre-booked.

We try to accommodate all passengers and ask for some consideration if we need to wait a few minutes for other passengers. If you have a significant delay, we may switch you to the next departure if one is scheduled. The day's last departure will wait until all passengers are accounted for.
An optional hotel drop-off service is available to hotels and destinations within the town limits of San Ignacio and Santa Elena. Please select the appropriate add-on options when submitting your booking request. If you are not sure whether your hotel is within town limits, you may contact us to inquire or you may book the regular rate and book the additional service with the driver. We also offer service to destinations beyond town limits. The additional cost is usually determined by the distance from town.
