About Provider
We specialize in small groups and private tours, while we are a young company we have many years of experience guiding in and around Placencia, service is our priority. Let us know what's your pleasure and we will make it happen.

Conrad Villanueva Jr is the owner of this fine establishment, he is the son of a fisherman and early Placencia entrepreneur. Conrad Sr had grown up as a fisherman in Placencia, worked in many different aspects of the village and has always been a role model taking guys off the street and showing them the way of a fisherman. as time went by he decided it was not the life for his youngest son Conrad Jr. so he made sure Conrad Jr went to school but little did he know tourism would get so big even though he was one of the pioneers in the transition between fishing and tourism, and as such tourism grew and Conrad Jr. seized the moment and after schooling got back on the sea living the life of a tour guide soon enough earning the ranks of Scuba Instructor and working in all the major marine tourist destinations in the country for some of the biggest names in the diving industry learning, getting insights, teaching himself on how to provide better more personalized services. seeing the faults in other whilst trying to improve on those. Eventually Creating Placencia Wildside Adventures as a way to be his means to provide that service that he has seen lacking in the industry.

Wildlife Sightseeing with Manatee Spotting About 40 minutes south of Placencia is Monkey River Village a small village at the mouth of Monkey River, this place was once a thriving ... moretown where the banana trade was centered. Now still home to a small amount of families you will head out from Placencia with one of the guides from the village, along the way you will pass through some mangrove tunnels then you're there at the mouth of Monkey River, you will head up the river cruising slowly as the guides point out various animals and insects of interest.

There are many species of birds, minute bats, sunbathing iguanas, turtles and sometimes even crocodiles. eventually, you will stop at a trail, whichever one is the favorite of your guide. he will then lead you along the trail pointing out other items of interest while looking for the elusive howler monkey, these guys are small but loud, they can be heard from miles away, most times you get to see them. When done with the trail if the river level is suitable you will be able to take a swim then cruise back to the village for some locally prepared lunch.

After lunch indulges in a chat with friendly villagers or head on home. on the way, stop in at local habitat area and look out for the shy West Indian Manatee, these guys are very shy but often times you can get a good view of them. from there is back to your resort to relax the rest of the day

In the Gladden Spit Silk Cayes Marine Reserve there are 3 small islands called the Silk (or Queen) Cayes around these islands and in the reserve one can snorkel for days and not get ... morebored, but there is one spot in particular that we like to call Turtle Alley. Here huge loggerhead turtles come up to stare you in the face, stingrays zoom by and nurse sharks cruise around the bottom, all safe and harmless, unless provoked. These critters hang out in the area waiting for scraps of food which is, most time the unwanted parts of lobsters, fish, and conch, that fishermen catch and clean in the area, they toss the scraps in the water and it makes for a yummy dinner for the critters.

Tour starts in Placencia Village at our private dock, here you will meet up with your boat crew, we get checked in and fitted with gear, we load up on the boat which we already prepped and ready to go the captain gives a safety briefing, and we're off. the boat ride is about an hour out to sea, after the boat rise we get ashore the southernmost Silk Cayes, meet the park ranger as he gives us a briefing about the history and the do's and dont's of the park system. then your snorkel guides step in and talk about the first snorkeling adventure that will be around the island for about an hour, once done you get to enjoy a beach lunch which is usually a beach BBQ. Then we relax on the beach a bit and let the tummies settle. When the group is ready we get in the boat and we do a boat snorkel around a patch reef which will lead up to the area we call "Turtle Alley" and here is where you get to meet the fun critters, LoggerHead Turtles, Nurse Sharks, Stingrays, and Eagle Rays, we enjoy some encounters with them the get onboard the boat via a provided ladder. When everyone is accounted for we head on back to Placencia as we reminisce on the day of adventure.
