Lamanai (Maya for Submerged Crocodile) is one of the largest sites in Belize and is the Maya City with the longest period of occupancy lasting over 3,000 years. The central area contains eight main groups of buildings, including a much-photographed temple featuring a pair of unique masks rising 15 feet tall. Each has been sculpted from a block of limestone instead of being molded from plaster over a stone which was the usual practice in the Maya world.

Belize is one of the few places in the world to offer cave tubing, and it is the most popular tour available for guests. Many say the cave tubing tour with our company was the best tour on their vacation. And we want to stress that safety is high on our priority list for our cave tubing trips. One of the interesting things about cave tubing is found in Mayan mythology. The Mayas considered caves as the entrance to the underworld, called Xibalba. Roughly translated it means “Place of fear” and it was like their “hell”. Exploring ... morethis incredible cave system is a thrill of a lifetime. This tour starts in Belize City at your pick-up location. You will be driven west from the City for about an hour to get to the park for this wonderful adventure tour.
Your driver, who is also a licensed tour guide, will be providing interesting information about Belize along the way. Once at the park, you will get a chance to use the changing and restroom to get ready for the tour. Your driver will be securing your equipment, life jackets, helmets with headlights, and tubes for this activity. You will then meet your guide, who will be conducting the tour with you through the caves.
Thereafter, you will be walking for just under 30 minutes through a well-kept trail through the rainforest that will bring you to the entrances of the cave system. Once there, you will be asked to put on your equipment, and your guide will then lead you through this amazing underground river. This will be for about 40 Minutes. Your tour continues after you exit the cave for another 20 minutes of open river tubing, bringing you back to your starting point. After you return back to the parking lot and change, you will be driven back to Belize City to complete this magnificent adventure tour.
