Take a relaxing float on the crisp waters of the Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve. Your guide will fit you with a helmet and give you an inner tube at the entrance of the park. Then you will take a short but fun hike to the entrance of the cave. While on the hike, you will pass through a shallow river and get to explore small limestone caves. The Caves Branch System includes 9 caves, but your basic tour will last approximately an hour and a half and will be a relaxing, fun adventure. Once you reach the entrance to the cave, your guide will tether your group’s tubes together and then pull you through the cave, as he or she points out schools of cavefish, Mayan paintings, and stalactites inside the cave. You will also spot plenty of birds and other wildlife once you emerge on the other side of the caves. After your relaxing float, enjoy a swim before the short hike back to the park entrance.
