What is this about?

In an effort to help the hospitality industry reopen on August 15th, HTS – Belize has revised some of its current training programs to fit within the BTB and Ministry of Tourism reopening guidelines and new Gold standard for accommodations. Below is a list of upcoming training being offered.

ServSafe: Food Handler Training with Certification Exam

Purpose: To provide interntional standard food and alcohol safety training for the ServSafe certification exams. The National Restaurant Association is offering FREE serveSafe food handlers certification until May 31st. This workshop will prepare you for certification.

Supervisory Skills Builder

Multi-day: April 20th - May 1st, 3pm-5pm

This workshop provides an entertaining approach to building supervisory skills through a series of modules loaded with information supervisors need to carry out their responsibilities to management and employees. We will cover Supervision Leadership, Time Management, Effective Communication, Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution, Orientation and Training, Motivation and Team Building, Staffing and Scheduling, and Improving Employee Performance. This training can be used to prepare for the Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS) professional certification from AHLEI.

Multi-day: April 20th - 24th, 10am-12pm

In this five-day workshop, we will meet for two hours each morning from Monday to Friday. Guest service is the foundation and heart of every hospitality career. How much does it cost?

It's completely FREE! There is no cost to register. These online training sessions are free. Lorena and Jim have graciously volunteered their time and expertise to give back and empower the Belizean workforce to prepare for success for the road ahead.

Who are the instructors?

Lorena Zaldana and Jim Scott are the founders of Hospitality Training Services Belize, a company that provides hospitality training throughout Belize and the Caribbean. HTS is licensed by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and Lorena and Jim both hold multiple certifications as trainers. Can I attend on my Smartphone?

Yes, you will be able to join the live sessions on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. You do not need to install any app. All you need is a reliable Internet connection and a web browser.

Are the sessions pre-recorded?

No, these will be live interactive sessions where the instructor will present from their computer and you will be able to ask questions and get answers similar to an in-person classroom setting.

What if I can't attend live?
