Fishing Experience
This Tour normally starts by us heading out fishing.
Note: we normally do trolling or bottom fishing as requested by our guests. For trolling we normally target, barracuda, snappers orjacks. And for bottom fishing we normally target snappers, Jack’s, grunts ,grouper.
Lunch at Monkey River
As the clock approaches 11:00 AM, we make our way to Alice's Restaurant along the scenic Monkey River for a delightful lunch. Savor local flavors while basking in the tranquil ambiance of the river.
Wildlife Tour
Post-lunch, we embark on a wildlife tour along the winding Monkey River. Keep your eyes open for howler monkeys swinging through the trees, crocodiles basking in the sun, and turtles gliding gracefully through the water. With a keen eye, you might spot colorful iguanas and a diverse array of birds.
Enjoy a leisurely exploration of the broadleaf rainforest, where we’ll highlight various medicinal plants, trees, and fruits, enriching your understanding of this vibrant ecosystem.
Scenic Return
As we cruise back along the picturesque coastline to Placencia, don’t miss the chance to spot playful manatees in their natural habitat. We’ll return you to your original pickup spot, concluding our adventure around 3:30-4:00 PM.

We normally depart from one of our convenient pickup locations at 8:00 AM, heading out toward the beautiful Bullock Islands and Snake Cayes within the stunning Port Honduras Marine Reserve.
Snorkeling Experience
Our first stop takes you into the crystal clear waters for an exciting snorkeling session. Explore vibrant coral habitats while searching for lobster, conch, and a variety of tropical fish species including butterfly fish, damsel fish, and blue chromis. Many of these species are abundant in this protected marine reserve and less commonly seen in other areas.
After the first snorkeling session, guests can relax on the island or aboard the boat for approximately 30 minutes, enjoying the peaceful surroundings before heading back into the water for a second snorkeling experience.
Lunch at Monkey River
Around 11:00 AM, we make our way to the historic Monkey River Village, where we stop at Alice’s Restaurant for lunch. Enjoy a delicious local meal while taking in the relaxing atmosphere along the riverside.
Monkey River Wildlife Tour
After lunch, we continue with a guided wildlife tour up the Monkey River. Along the way, keep an eye out for howler monkeys, crocodiles, turtles, iguanas, and a wide variety of birds and other wildlife species that call this area home.
Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the broadleaf rainforest, where your guide will point out medicinal plants, native trees, and tropical fruits while sharing insights into the local ecosystem and traditional uses of the forest.
Scenic Coastal Return
Following the river cruise, we head back along the coastline toward Placencia with a chance to spot manatees along the way. We return to the same location where the tour began, arriving approximately between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.

Set out after dark to explore the beautiful and peaceful Sittee River under a sky full of stars. Belize has many nocturnal creatures that come out after dark to the riverside to eat ... moreand drink from the river. Use high-powered flashlights to spot the eyeshine of crocodiles, kinkajou, coatimundi, raccoons, birds, resting iguanas, and much more!
The second half of this tour involves cruising through a hand-cut path from the river into the mangroves where you can spot resting bats on the sides of the trees and then out into Anderson's Lagoon which boasts bioluminescent plankton that lights up with any disturbance in the water. It is magical to see fish darting away from predators and the boat as you cruise along. The water also glows behind the boat as the prop wash activates the chemical reaction which causes the plankton to light up. This is so interesting and intriguing to visitors that a swim in these waters is almost irresistible so wear your swimwear and bring along a towel. Also, you may want to wear long pants and sleeves or bring a can of insect repellent before and after the tour as there may be biting insects at the dock.
This tour is seasonal and affected by rainfall and the moonlight so we only schedule during optimal viewing times. We want to offer the highest quality experience at great value.

Wildlife Sightseeing with Manatee Spotting
About 40 minutes south of Placencia is Monkey River Village a small village at the mouth of Monkey River. This community was once a thriving ... moretown where the banana trade was centered, now still home to a small number of families. You will head out from Placencia with one of the guides from the village.
Along the way, you will pass through some mangrove tunnels. Once at the mouth of the Monkey River, you will head up the river cruising slowly as the guides point out various animals and insects of interest.
There are many species of birds, minute bats, sunbathing iguanas, turtles, and sometimes even crocodiles. Eventually, you will stop at a trail, whichever one is the favorite of your guide. He will then lead you along the trail pointing out other items of interest while looking for the elusive howler monkey. These guys are small but so loud that they can be heard from miles away, most times you get to see them. When done with the trail if the river level is suitable you will be able to take a swim and then cruise back to the village for some locally prepared lunch.
After lunch, indulge in a chat with friendly villagers or head home. On the way back, we stop at a local habitat area and look out for the West Indian Manatee. They are very shy but oftentimes you can get a good view of them. From there it's back to your resort to relax for the remainder of the day.

Stretching from the eastern slopes of the Maya Mountains down to wetlands and then the Caribbean Coast of southeastern Belize, the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the ... morecountry’s most beautiful, unspoiled areas.
Measuring more than 150 square miles (400 square km) in size, the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary has no roads, automobile traffic, or residences, making it the perfect place to see Belize’s nature at its finest.
Located approximately 30 minutes from Placencia and 15 minutes from Hopkins Village, the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including approximately 200 jaguars. The reserve is home to the world’s only dedicated scientific and conservation program to help preserve these rare animals in their natural habitat. Indeed, the IUCN and World Wildlife Fund have declared that the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is performing vital work in protecting jaguars as well as four other big cat species indigenous to Belize.
Other attractions in the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary include colorful insects, hundreds of species of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. The diverse landscape includes verdant hills, lush wetlands, and thick rainforests, making it an excellent place to see and explore nature.
The tour includes a brief orientation upon arrival, followed by a scenic hike along a well-marked trail. Participants will get to see fragrant flowers, exotic plants, colorful birds, and several different animal species, including potentially black howler monkeys, tapirs, gibnuts, and peccaries.
This tour also includes a stop at one of the amazingly beautiful waterfalls inside the reserve as well as the chance to enjoy a refreshing swim or a fun slide down one of the natural waterslides created by the falls. The tour can also include an inner tube trip down a section of the pristine South Stann Creek River and a delicious packed lunch.

After departure from your pickup point in Belize City, we travel west along the George Price Highway to the Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Traveling along the highway we will begin ... morescanning for Jabirus and our largest kingfisher, the Ringed Kingfisher. When we arrive at Monkey Bay we will begin in the pine savannah area, here we can observe Yellow-headed Parrots, Azure-crowned Hummingbirds, and Northern-beardless Tyrannulet. As we continue along the road the habitat transitions from Savannah to Broadleaf, here we will meet a few patches of spiny bamboo, the ideal habitat for the rare Blue Seedeater. The road continues until it reaches the Sibun River, where we have chances of seeing Green and Amazon Kingfishers, on the way back to the entrance we will listen for the Great Antshrike and Dusky Antbirds, Scarlet-rumped, and Crimson-collared Tanagers may be encountered by us. After birding Monkey Bay we will transfer to the Belize Zoo, we will tour the grounds and view some animals of Belize in a natural setting, we'll also be on the lookout for Yellow-backed Oriole, Grace's Warbler and Red-legged Honeycreepers which call the zoo. On the way back to Belize City we will stop at the Tropical Education Center in hopes of finding Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl and Green Jays.
