The Battle of St. George’s Caye
The Battle of St. George’s Caye dates back to 1798 from September 3 to 10. The Baymen, British woodcutters, and the Spaniards fought relentlessly off ... morethe coast of Belize in order to gain control of the once settlement, British Honduras. On the final battle, September 10, the Baymen defeated the Spaniards and established the settlement to be a colony of Great Britain. Presently, the 10 of September is now celebrated as the Battle of St. George’s Caye Day – a national public and bank holiday. On this day, parades are usually held in towns, villages, and cities to commemorate the battle fought by our forefathers.

Costa Maya International Festival
The Costa Maya International Festival has grown to be one of Belize’s largest and most anticipated cultural events. Annually, it is held in the Town ... moreof San Pedro in August. This celebration is a three-day event, usually held on at the end of a week, that comprises of live music and entertainment, cultural performances from the region’s top acts, traditional and fusion cuisines and treats, games, and the infamous Miss Costa Maya International pageant. The goal of the festival is to continue promoting the culture of the Mundo Maya countries with their folklore dances, music, and food, while promoting tourism in the island of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.
The festival kicks off with the election and coronation of Miss Costa Maya International. Contestants from all over Central America, where the Maya population once thrived, compete for the coveted title and crown. After the crowning, officials and foreign diplomats formally announce the opening of the Costa Maya Festival.
The celebrations carry on for the weekend with seafood cookouts, mechanical rides, games, football marathons, parades, and international musical presentations. There is a cultural event of “Noche International,” where some of the top bands in the Latino world perform on stage. The Costa Maya Festival traditionally concludes with other cultural shows, live music and entertainment, food, and dances from participating countries.

July 3 - 16, 2022. Lobster Fest officially kicks off in San Pedro on July 3rd with the start of the Lobster Crawl event. San Pedro usually hosts a weeks-long ... moreevent that ranges from live concerts, block parties, food tastings, and other activities. The Lobster Fest in San Pedro is the largest celebration for Lobster Fest.
Usually, you are given a Lobster Crawl Passport that outlines the full schedule of events that will happen. Using this, you will collect stamps from each event and participate in a raffle to win prizes. The passport should be submitted at the block party happening at Barrier Reef Drive.
The San Pedro Lobster Fest is the first segment of the nationwide Lobster Festival that is held annually in Belize to open the lobster season. This year’s grand prize for this raffle is yet to be announced.

2023 Caye Caulker Lobster Fest
The events happening at the Caye Caulker Lobster Fest will be epic! On Friday, July 14, the opening ceremony starts at 7pm at the Palapa Gardens. It's on the beachfront going towards the split, you can't miss it. The "Waiting for Tonight" After Dance will feature some of the best DJs and entertainment such as DJ Khris, TLC Band and Evolution Sounds. On Saturday, July 15, there will be a beach party at 11:00 a.m., a Powder Party, and a Glow Party at 9pm.
