This tour will take you from the Maya temple to the entrance of the Mayan underworld. The adventure starts at the popular Mayan site of Xunantunich; just getting there is an adventure ... moreof its own. After touring the temples, we drive to No’och Che’ en Cave, where you will start off on an easy hike through the jungle to your starting point. As you sit back and enjoy tubing downstream, you will be floating through a series of remarkable limestone caves, each filled with fascinating discoveries of the Mayan underworld. There is also an opportunity to leave your tubes behind and go exploring cave chambers, where you will see ceramic pieces and beautiful geological formations. The adventure ends floating downstream through the jungles of Belize; back at the starting point.

The temples are easily climbed and are not as tall as Lamanai and Xunantunich.
After trekking an ancient home of the Maya, you’ll head west for a 90-minute drive towards Jaguar Paw for tubing. Once at the outpost, you will meet your tour guides who will issue inflatable tubes, headlamps, and life vests. You’ll be given a basic orientation and safety briefing before heading off on a 30-minute hike which includes wading through a few knee-deep water streams. Don’t let the hike worry you though; as it’s mostly on flat terrain, it is enjoyable and informative. It’s shaded by the rainforest canopy and our tour guides will point out flora and fauna noteworthy to the area. Once at the entrance of the cave system, it’s time for your cave-tubing adventure through the ancient Maya underworld. Inside, you’ll see intricate crystalline formations that line the cave with a majestic rise and fall of stalagmites and stalactites that add to the serene richness and grandiosity of Xibalba as it’s known.
If there’s time, and you’re open to added adventure, our guides may stop at the mini waterfall and swimming area. After leaving the falls, you’ll emerge into the sunlight and free float downstream, ushered by the gentle current and little rapids, to the harmony of birds and natural wildlife which routes back to where the tour started

You would need to endure steep hills/steps and about 1 hour into the hike, there is a viewing point that puts you above the canopy and allows a perfect view of the tallest peak in Belize (Victoria Peak). After enjoying that breath-taking view, the hike resumes, heading along the hills towards the waterfalls. Once at the bottom and the waterfall is visible, you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment. The hike is still not over, as a short walk going over the first waterfall brings you to the second and larger waterfall. Your guide will drive you for another 1.5 hours before arriving at Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, we will pass small villages, beautiful lakeside scenery, and rolling hills with rainforests and agriculture farms.
Upon arrival at Tikal, we will pay your entrance fees and then your guide will provide an in-depth 4-hour tour of this magnificent site (Our guide speaks fluent English). Tikal is known for its massive pyramid temples, monumental plazas, palaces, and stelae. This is a very significant site in the history of the region and Tikal was the most powerful metropolis in the area for many centuries.
