About Location
Sittee Point is a small community where high-end beachfront resorts and a few interesting independent restaurants gather. It is located about one and a half miles south of Hopkins. The actual Sittee Point is about three miles further south at the mouth of the Sittee River, while the marina is about one and a halfmiles south.

Sittee River is the name for both the beautiful river and the village that is situated on its banks. Sittee River is famous for having the tallest mangrove trees in the country of Belize. The river is composed of a combination of freshwater and sedimates originating in the uplands of western Belize. This makes the river an ideal ecosystem for mangrove forests to grow. The Sittee Village is a Garifuna village that promotes the Garifuna culture and lifestyle.

The tranquil, spread-out Creole village of Sittee River, with its increasing population of North American expats, stretches alongside the beautiful jungle-lined river of the same name, ... moreabout 3 miles by unpaved road southwest of Hopkins. Sittee River is known for its spectacular river, a plethora of birds and other wildlife, and notorious for its nigh-invisible and perpetually ravenous sand flies.
