On our way to Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve, we cross ... morea fringing reef called Rocky Point. Once we arrive at the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve we then do two snorkeling stops. One is done at the channel and the second one is done at Barracuda Alley. After a fun day of snorkeling, we stop at the beach to eat delicious rice and beans. Once the food is served and everyone is happy, we jump onboard and make our way through the river that splits Mexico with Belize. While crossing, be on the lookout for birds, fishes, rays, and sometimes even manatees. After exiting the river, we stop at the information section where you learn some history from the Mayans and the island of Ambergris Caye. This information site has a tower that you can climb. The view from up there is amazing. After leaving the information center, we make our way from the back part of the island. If the group is not tired, we can stop at an isolated beach for the kids and family to swim a little. The total cost for this tour is $600 USD for the charter. Cost includes 6 persons and any additional is $100.00 USD.

This tour starts with us driving through the small Mennonite community of Upper Barton Creek where you will have a glimpse of their traditional daily life. Once at the site, we start ... moreoff by paddling through and exploring the mystical Barton Creek cave, an ancient site used by the Mayans for burial and ceremonial purposes. The jade-colored water runs for 4 miles inside the caves surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites. A tour of Barton Creek involves gently paddling a two-man canoe across the cave's still water, guided only by headlamps that light up the intricate stalactites and stalagmites that make up the limestone walls. You will also discover rock flows and cathedral chambers while observing Mayan pottery shards and the bone remains of more than 28 humans dating back to 200 CE. This is an amazing experience everyone will remember.

In the Gladden Spit Silk Cayes Marine Reserve, there are 3 small islands called the Silk (or Queen) Cayes. Around these islands and in the reserve one can snorkel for days and not ... moreget bored, but there is one spot in particular that we like to call Turtle Alley. Here huge loggerhead turtles come up to stare you in the face, stingrays zoom by and nurse sharks cruise around the bottom, all safe and harmless unless provoked. These critters hang out in the area waiting for scraps of food which is, most time the unwanted parts of lobsters, fish, and conch, that fishermen catch and clean in the area. They toss the scraps in the water and it makes for a yummy dinner for the critters.

The tour starts in Placencia Village at our private dock. Here you will meet up with your boat crew, get checked in and fitted with gear, we load up on the boat which we already prepped and ready to go after the captain gives a safety briefing. The boat ride is about an hour out to sea. After the boat ride we get ashore at the southernmost Silk Cayes, and meet the park ranger as he gives us a briefing about the history and the dos and don'ts of the park system. Your snorkel guides then step in and share about the first snorkeling adventure that will be around the island for about an hour. Once done you get to enjoy a beach lunch which is usually a beach BBQ. Then we relax on the beach a bit and let the tummies settle. When the group is ready we get in the boat and do a boat snorkel around a patch reef which will lead up to the area we call "Turtle Alley." Here is where you get to meet the fun critters, LoggerHead Turtles, Nurse Sharks, Stingrays, and Eagle Rays. We enjoy some encounters with them and then get onboard the boat via a provided ladder. When everyone is accounted for we head on back to Placencia as we reminisce on the day of adventure.
