Belize Lobster Fest 2019 There is no better time to kick off summer with Belize Lobster Fest. Coinciding with the first lobster harvest that continues through February 15, this annual ... moreseafood revelry is a popular event throughout the country of Belize. Lobster fest is celebrated at three exquisite locations, San Pedro, Caye Caulker, and Placencia, for three to nine days, depending on which Lobster Fest you are attending.

Around this same time, is when many travelers take advantage of the low prices to visit Belize, and you should too! While lobster might seem to dominate the dishes at Lobster fest, you can also try lionfish and participate in many other activities.
So where in Belize is Lobster Fest 2019 exactly held? The lobster fest is held in three main locations in Belize, each with its own unique festive environment. If you are ravenous for lobster and endless parties, then San Pedro might be the best option for you. San Pedro is known for their raves, live music, and gatherings. Certainly, you can expect more people to engage in this type of activity, especially because San Pedro’s Lobster fest last for about a week.

Placencia hosts lobster fest for about three days, and you can expect a bit of every sort of entertainment. Placencia also hosts many competitive games that you can engage on. Since Placencia is a peninsula, you can always take a bus ride inland to go site seeing, cave tubing, bird watching, and hiking in nearby locations in southern Belize.

If you are looking for a more relaxing lobster festive, then Caye Caulker might be the best option. While you are there, you can do many other activities such as snorkeling and go scuba diving. You can view a full list of Marine Tours at Belizing.com. Caye Caulker might also be the most affordable of all locations.

If you can afford to visit all locations, then do so, as this event is done once a year, at the most affordable time to travel Belize. You might also want to visit far inland, where you can still experience unique dishes of lobster, and certainly many more affordable adventures. Let's go Belizing at Lobster Fest!
Where is the 2019 Lobster Fest? The Lobster Fest will be hosted at San Pedro, Placencia and Caye Caulker. Choose one, or all, of the locations and have a blast at the beach, Enjoy delicious lobster meals or meet with lobster fishermen to see their catch of the day. There will be lots of fun including beach parties, live entertainment and concerts, and the Miss Lobster Festival competition.
Why should you attend the 2019 Lobster Fest? Lobster Fest is always a fun and exciting event for locals and travelers. There will be awesome beach parties with great prices on food, drink and accommodations this summer for the Lobster Fest Season!

Marco Gonzalez Spring Equinox Come out and experience the Mayan culture like never before! The Marco Gonzalez Archaeological Reserve was occupied from 100BC to approximately late 1400AC. ... moreWhat was thought to be a free standing island those thousands of years ago is now surrounded by mangrove marsh and has lost some of its mass due to sea rise of over 2.5 feet. Marco is one of over 20 Maya sites on Ambergris Caye, the home to the Coastal Maya Traders. Marco has been found to be the biggest of these sites. It sits in a forested environment with a trove of artifacts everywhere you look. Of course during the 500 years of abandonment, these items are in fragments, but a brief review at the office before your tour will help to identify items such as shells for jewelry, chert (stone) pieces still sharp for cutting, pottery shards (pieces) of jars and plates and much more. A self-guided tour is done by following the blue ribbons along the 7.5 acres of the reserve. Look, take pictures, hold them – LEAVE all behind. There are NO temples on Ambergris Caye or Marco; however, archaeologists have identified 50 mounds of former home sites – many are identified with our informational signs. Along the trails you may encounter some of the critters and birds which inhabit the site. The hermit crabs are particularly fun. And you may get a threatening stare from the many black stripped iguana. They’re scurry off soon enough.
2019 Marco Gonzalez Spring Equinox The Spring Equinox Event will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., where guests can enjoy a day of celebration of the start of all things new. This is also the only fundraising event held by the Belizean Non-Profit Organization, which manages the site. Cost of admission is $20BZ/$10US.

Activities will include the return of K’iche Maya Elder Martin Choc, 89 years old, to officiate the Blessing. He is joined by his grandson Jose who is Grandfather’s interpreter because Mr. Choc only speaks his native language and Spanish! Anyone who is celebrating a birthday, wedding, anniversary or special occasion is invited to the inner circle as the ceremony takes place.

The ceremony is followed by the Masaewal Maya dancers from Yo Creek in their native costumes. You will be able to enjoy a table of artifacts on display from the San Pedro House of Culture as well as stop by Belize Chocolate Co.’s table for a demonstration of how Cacao goes from pod to bean to product. Maya music will be in the background while you enjoy food, beer and soft drinks or shop Maya items brought from the Toledo village of San Marcos. On hand will be representatives from Belize Institute of Archaeology to give tours of the site and answer your question of Maya occupation of the island.
Why should you attend the 2019 Marco Gonzalex Spring Equinox? This is a great opportunity to learn about the great Maya Civilization that once occupied the island of Ambergris Caye. There will be booths selling food and drinks and also booths from the San Pedro House of Culture and Belize Chocolate Co. to demonstrate the chocolate-making process. If you are planning on attending, please note the following: The site is 5 ½ miles from downtown San Pedro. The road may be bumpy due to late rains; allow 45 minutes to drive to the southern end of the island. After paying your entrance fee, the site is located ¼ mile – a 10/15 minute walk – inland via a boardwalk. After reaching the “high ground” of the site there is another 6 minute walk to the Main Plaza for the venue. The site is in the mangrove marsh; we control the mosquitoes as much as possible, but bring bug repellent and dress appropriately. Usually Spring is very comfortable on site. Admission, food and beverages require money; bring cash. No electricity for credit cards! Also note, very young children may get too curious with our critters! Under 5 years old not recommended.

Come enjoy a Maya immersion without leaving Ambergris Caye!

Cave tubing and zip line combination tour is for those looking for an adventure of a lifetime. There is nothing like the thrill of flying free like the birds or sitting back to enjoy ... morebeing carried lazily through mysterious caves and under the shade of nature’s lush canopy. Considered one of the hottest new adventure sports and rated number 1 in Belize, the cave tubing and zip line excursion allow you to embark on every traveler’s dream adventure.

The Zip Line Adventure consists of 8 Zip Line Platforms each strategically located within the Rainforest canopy. Double cables (each capable of withstanding 2, 000 pounds of weight, the requirement for this tour truly has nothing to do with weight but with the size of the safety equipment) are used for the ultimate safety.

The walk to the beginning of the first Cave Entrance is a natural gentle 30 to 40-minute stroll through the beautiful Belizean Rainforest. Your guide will take you through two dry caves where many stalagmites and stalactites can be admired along the way.
The Xunantunich Maya Ruins are by far the ruins with the most archeological importance in the country of Belize. Situated in the tropical rainforest the Temples of Xunantunich are West of Belize City close to the Guatemalan border in the beautiful Cayo District.
