Visit one of the largest and most important Mayan sites in all of Central America. Your professional guide will pick you up at your San Ignacio hotel for the roughly 1.5-hour drive to Tikal National Park.
You will be assisted in all border crossing procedures to enter Guatemala safely and hassle-free. Be sure to bring your passport! After one hour we will stop at a souvenir shop where a part of our Tikal Go souvenirs you can see the best scale model of Tikal and a replica of the tomb found in temple 1 of the most important ruler of the city Jasaw Chan Kahuil.
Once inside the park, let your imagination run free as you explore highlights among more than 3,000 structures that archaeologists have excavated so far. Learn about the daily life and religious practices of the ancient Maya while wandering through the maze of the Central Acropolis, and envision the excitement of an elite sporting match on the ball courts. Tikal boasts an array of magnificent ceremonial temples. Climb the wooden steps of Temple 2 and admire the astonishing view of the main square facing Temple 1 Grand Jaguar Temple the simple of Guatemala, was built to honor Jasaw Chan Kahuil more easily known as Lord Chocolate for the number of beans of cacao they found in the tomb. A set of twin pyramids with altars will greet you at complexes Q and R. Marvel at the Temple of the Masks, which was once adorned with intricate ceremonial mask carvings. This sacrificial site is accessed by approximately an hour's drive from our office in San Ignacio. Here we enter the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve and park our vehicles at the ranger post. From this point on we are on foot, hiking through the jungle for approximately 45 minutes to the entrance of the cave. The hike includes three stream crossings. To access the cave, we swim across a small spring-fed pool with the assistance of a rope and wade into knee-high water into the dark underworld of the cave that allows us access to the extensive underground maze of tunnels, passageways, and chambers, climaxing in the ceremonial chamber housing stoneware, ceramics and the famed crystallized skeleton of the “Crystal Maiden”. We spend approximately 3 hours in the cave under the instruction of our experienced guides.

From there you board a private vehicle with your guide as you begin your road trip on the George Price Highway to Xunantunich (which is approx one hour and a half driving) explore the site, have lunch, and head to Caves Branch. The Mayans made use of the land and its terrains, as they did so above the surface they also did so below the surface. The Mayans believed that the caves were an entrance to Xibalba “a place of fear” related to death. It is completely so because the Mayans used the caves to perform death rituals and also the river flowing through these caves provided a secret passageway to ambush enemies.
Cave Tubing into a cave system at Caves Branch. After reaching the Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve you will hike for about 30 minutes through the Belize Rain Forest and through a couple of dry caves until you come to the opening of the first cave through which the underground Caves Branch river flows. This is where the REAL fun begins as you will be assisted in getting into your inner tube to begin floating through the caves. It's a short but amazing journey of about 45 minutes to an hour. Our tubes with headrests are linked so there is no need to hold onto someone else's feet and you are guided by a licensed and experienced tour guide :) At the end of the tour, we will head back to the water taxi terminal.

Pick-up time can either be 8:00 am or 8:30 - you decide. The first stop is at Hol Chan - "Little Channel". That is our first snorkeling stop. Once completed, less than 3 minutes boat ride we get to Shark and Ray Alley. Here you can either stay on the boat and snap pictures or go in the water to SWIM with marine species like nurse sharks, stingrays, horse-eye jacks, and much more fish. We bring sardines to feed them...
After that, we move towards our sister island Caye Caulker. We head to the Northern Channel where we go look out for the manatees. Once spotted, you get on your snorkeling gear and go in to snorkel with them. So Marvelous!
We then go to the island and visit the famous "Split" which divides the island into two parts that were caused in 1961 by hurricane Hattie. On the leeward part of the island, we go to feed the big tarpons from the boat - if you are brave enough! Lol. Not too far we have the seahorse city reserve. You get to look at them. Once all of this is done, normally around 12:30 pm we go to the island to walk and find a restaurant of your choice where you will have lunch. Lunch is not included in this tour. We depart from Caye Caulker to San Pedro around 3:00 pm.
