Your Smart Travel Belize Tour Guide will meet Guest/s at Fort Street Tourism Village in Belize City. Your city tour begins by taking an Educational tour on the North side of Belize ... moreCity with our first stop being the Light House/ Baron Bliss monument. We then proceed along the Marine Parade and provide historical information on key locations such as Chateau Caribbean Hotel, Memorial Park, Central Bank of Belize, MCC Grounds, BTL Park (formerly known as Lindbergh Landing), Marion Jones Sporting Complex, Central Bank, Old Belize City Prison among many other buildings.

After seeing Northside Belize City, we will travel up the George Price Highway approximately 40 minutes out of the City whilst learning a little about who George Price was and what he has done for our country.

Along the highway, guests will be able to see some small communities and some flora and fauna along the highways as well as some wetlands. You will then arrive at the Belize Zoo where your tour guide will allow you some time to use the restroom before you start the tour for about an hour.

At the Belize Zoo, you will be able to see some native animals to Belize as well as some troublesome animals such as Jaguars and Crocodiles that were harming the livestock of our farmers. Some were donated to the Belize Zoo because they were illegal to have as a pet, and others were rescued from the wild.

Day 2: Caracol Maya Ruins

Take a day tour deep into the Chiquibul Forest Reserve via the Mountain Pine Ridge and visit one of the largest Maya Cities in Belize. Caracol, Belize's premier Maya site with a rich and exciting history, rivaled the power of Tikal in neighboring Guatemala. Caracol was an important political center of the lowland Maya and had a population equal to more than twice that of present-day Belize City. As you explore the site, look out for howler monkeys, keel-billed toucans, and other wildlife.

Day 3: Placencia & Monkey River

Enjoy a scenic road trip down the Hummingbird Highway from San Ignacio to Placencia on the southeastern coast. Placencia has a mixture of small guesthouses, beachfront resorts or high end hotels, and a variety of eating places. In the afternoon take a boat trip to nearby Monkey River. This Creole village is on the bank of a river with the same name, from which you will hear and see a variety of wildlife–including howler monkeys.

John’s College, Edward P Yorke High School, Nazarene High School, Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), Social Security Board, and Palotti High School. Then take the exit on the Phillip Goldson Highway heading in the Belize District about 30 miles north of Belize City on the Old Northern Highway and about 6 miles west of the shore of the Caribbean Sea.

Altun Ha was a wealthy ceremonial center boasting two main plazas, and thirteen structures (including the Temple of Sun God or the Temple of the Masonry Altars). Altun Ha is not very far from the Caribbean Sea and it formed part of a unique cultural zone along with other coastal sites.

It is also where the Largest Jade was ever found in the Mayan Kingdom. During an excavation, Dr. David Pendergast, along with Mr. Wilhelm Leslie of Rockstone Pond, and another Belizean (Mr. Winston Herbert of Lucky Strike Village), discovered the famous jade sculpture of Kinich Ahau, in 1968.

After visiting Altun Ha we head back towards Belize City where your Tour Guide will take you along the South side of Belize City where guests will be able to view life on the south side of the city and then will make a short stop at one of the oldest church in Central America, St. John’s Cathedral built in 1812, then will proceed back to the Fort Street Tourism Village.
