Tubing through Belize's unique underground cave system is the must-do tour in Belize. After meeting your Belize guide, you will walk to your air-conditioned transportation for the ... moreapproximately one-hour drive to the Caves Branch River and its winding path through the Mayan Mountains and numerous ancient caves.

After picking up your tube, you will walk down to the adjacent river. This will be the spot where you finish your float. You will start the adventure by wading across the river, holding onto a rope strung across the water. From here, you will set out on a 30-minute walk along a jungle trail over loose gravel. Guests must be in good shape and able to keep up with the guide on this Belize excursion.

At the entrance of the underground cave system, your guide will hand out miner's lamps before you enter the water. You will float along on the gentle current that will take you through the cave system. Intricate crystalline formations line the cave, and the majestic rise and fall of stalagmites and stalactites add to the serene opulence of nature. The floating part of the adventure lasts approximately two hours, depending on the current, and brings you back to the starting location of your Belize excursion.

After the float, walk back up to the transportation for the drive to the pier.

Please Note: As the river bottom is rocky, you must wear shoes (sneakers or water shoes) while tubing, and they will get wet. Do not forget a towel and dry shoes for after the tour. Guests with special dietary requirements may need to bring a snack or power bar, as the tour duration is five hours. Guests must be a minimum age of 8 years old and 48" in height. Tour times listed are in local time.

Located in the village of San Jose Succotz, Xunantunich "maiden of the rock", is one of the most popular sites in Belize. We start off at the Mopan River where we cross the river via ... morea hand-cranked ferry and ride uphill for a mile on a paved road. This was a major ceremonial center during the Classic Period. The center is composed of six major plazas surrounded by more than 25 temples and palaces. The site is a late classic period 600 AD to 900 AD which also was the borderline influence of El Naranjo- a large ceremonial site over in Guatemala. The large pyramid, “El Castillo”, is well known for the frieze or band of stucco decoration which at one time extended around the entire temple. El Castillo rises l30 feet above the main plaza; is the second tallest structure in Belize and offers an impressive panoramic view of the Mopan River valley, the border town of Benque Viejo (Belize), and neighboring Melchor de Mencos (Guatemala). Just being here and appreciating this view makes it totally worth the effort!

The Ancient Mayan Temple of Lamanai is located along the river banks of The New River, Orange Walk District, Belize. Known as the longest continuously occupied site in all of Mesoamerica, ... moreLamanai boasts a wealth of history. Lamanai pronounced Lama'an/ayin means "submerged crocodile." The structures found at Lamanai are some of the oldest in Belize and many believe that this site was of moderate in size dated as early as 1500 BC. Some of the newer temples were occupied as recently as the 18th century AD. This means that Lamanai was occupied for a little over 3200 years! With an estimated population of about 34,000. How impressive!! Lamanai's trading over the borders of Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize. Today only 5% of the 800 buildings within the complex have been excavated and explored. An interesting fact about Lamanai: these temples were built in layers which suggests that successive populations would build upon the temples of their ancestors instead of destroying them. Some of the most famous temples are the Jaguar Temple, The Ball Court, The High Temple (El Castillo), and the Mask Temple.
