Exploring the Jaguar trail provides a unique experience and a chance to connect with nature and experience the wonders of the Belizean Rainforest. This is known as a home to wildlife including howler monkeys, spider monkeys, tapirs, numerous bird species and many cave systems in which we explore.
Day 1:
Trek through the jungles of Belize to Camp 1, as you learn about the flora and fauna.
Set camp (we use sleeping hammocks with mosquito net)
Set Jungle motion cameras on strategic locations to capture photographs of wildlife during night time
Night hike for nocturnal wildlife spotting (optional)
Day 2:
After breakfast, we will trek to the second camp, (creek side camp). Amidst this tropical paradise, tucked away in the heart of the jungle are 2 remarkable dry Caves that we will explore, where history, nature, and pure exhilaration intertwine. Brace yourself as we uncover the secrets of these ancient treasures and discover this new highlight of our Jaguar Trail jungle trek and caving expedition.
Day 3:
Morning Birding before breakfast (open)
Swimming (open)
Pack up and then trek through citrus farms towards the exit. We will review SD cards from cameras for exciting photographs of wildlife.

This adventure kicks off with a hike through the pristine rainforest from Rancho de las Lomas, a citrus farm for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

In the Jungle, at the base of the falls, we set camp for the overnight stay in a truly awesome, peaceful setting.

From the parking lot, we have a 45 minutes jungle hike toward the cave entrance, crossing a knee-deep river 3 times along the way- enjoy the scenery.
At the cave entrance:
Upon reaching the mouth of the ATM cave, your guide briefs you on the cave’s historical facts while you gear up with helmets and headlamps. The hike inside the cave entails a very short swim of about 30 feet across at the very entrance of the cave. For non-swimmers, there is a bypass around the corner of the cave’s entrance through which you are assisted by the guide. For the rest of the cave length, it’s mostly wading through the water no deeper than chest height (at average height) at most. Admire the myriad cave formations along the way until reaching the hidden dry chamber where amazement awaits you.
In the main chamber:
To get to the main chamber, you'll climb over some rocks providing a staircase to the chamber. Once in the chamber, you’ll be asked by your guide to take off your shoes and walk with only your socks on your feet. Here your guide explains the Maya rituals while you awe at the magnificence of this ancient tomb and its grandeur.
You’ll be amazed by all the Mayan artifacts and remains freely scattered throughout the cave as your guide explains how they got there and what lead to this shocking massacre in such a remote location. Walking farther into the cave, we’ll reach a higher but smaller chamber accessible only through the use of a man-made ladder. This is where the prized, intact, crystalized skeletal remains of the Crystal Maiden lay. Take your time, to sink in the reality of what lies before you.
Departure:
After being saturated to capacity with astonishment, we make our way back out of the chambers and the cave. (the way back out always seems so much shorter than the way in). We then hike back onto the parking lot, where the guide will provide you with your lunch as you discuss the reality of what you’ve just witnessed inside. You may choose to change into your dry clothes before or after lunch (your choice). After lunch, we board our vehicle and head back to San Ignacio arriving around 3:30- 4:00 PM.

This tour will take you on an adventure back 1000 years. You will explore the wonders of the Mayan world (their cave systems) on a tube. The tour starts at 8 am here in the city, with ... morehotel pickup. We will go explore the Mayan Temple Altun ha, and you'll get to hike to the top and around it with our guide giving you all you need to know about the site and the Maya world. Then we head deeper into the jungle to go explore the cave systems. We will hike for about 20 mins with our tubes through the jungle, and you'll get a fun lesson on plant identification, insect identification, and all their medicinal uses throughout history in Belize. Then we cave tube down and river and through several caves enjoying the scenery. Lastly, zipline over the jungle canopy. We then return to Caye Caulker in the evening around 4 pm/5 pm.

Once you leave the farm you then take an approximately 1-hour drive to the amazing Big Rock Falls. Once at the falls, you will enjoy your home-cooked lunch. Although the path to the falls will require some physical agility, the opportunity to witness and swim close to this spectacular 150-foot cascade is a must-see. After a few hours of frolicking in the water, you will be ready for your drive back to your San Ignacio hotel. On this Adventure, we offer a tractor ride on a custom-built trailer through some of Belize's Orange Orchards and rainforest. Along the way, you will cross several rivers and streams and see a variety of vegetation and wildlife. After an hour and a half tractor ride, you will arrive at our property known as Misty Vale. From there, we begin an arduous one-mile hike through the rainforest before you arrive at Davis Falls.
