This amazing combo combines both an incredible cave and the ever popular Xunantunich into one action-packed day. The cave is, in fact, two incredible locations brimming with evidence ... moreof the ancient Maya. It is a 20-minute trek to the entrance through a lush tropical jungle. At the cave entrance, you are equipped with your helmet and light for a trip into the underworld.

You will enter a rugged first chamber that leads into several small side chambers before climbing up a rock fall to another chamber full of cave formations and ancient ceramics. After exploring the third chamber, you climb towards a natural skylight where the ancient Maya also performed many rituals. After a short break, you then begin the 1.5 treks back to the cave entrance. Following lunch at a local restaurant, you then continue to the ever popular Xunantunich before heading back to your San Ignacio hotel.

You must be reasonably able to walk and trek for 3-4 hours to do this tour.

You will then have a short drive to the stables where your personal guide will enthrall you with the site's ... morehistory and fauna of the archeologically rich San Lorenzo area for approximately two hours. Once you leave the farm you then take an approximately 1-hour drive to the amazing Big Rock Falls. Once at the falls you will enjoy your home cooked lunch. Although the path to the falls will require some physical agility, the opportunity to witness and swim close to this spectacular 150-foot cascade is a must see. After a few hours frolicking in the water, you will be ready for your drive back to your San Ignacio hotel. Alternatively, you may opt to curtail your time at Big Rock Falls and enjoy the sedate Rio On Pools as well before driving to your hotel.

Super cool trip with St. Leonard's Tours
Mr. Rudolph took us to a really cool caving experience at Actun Chapat Cave. It was my first time at Actun Chapat and he was very knowledgeable about the cave and its formations. Great tour!
