You will be picked up in Placencia and head to Xunantunich with a local guide. From the top of Xunantunich, you will get a spectacular panoramic view of the Cayo District and across the border in Guatemala.
Getting to Xunantunich includes riding a hand-cranked ferry to cross the majestic Mopan River.
After exploring Xunantunich and having lunch ( not included in the price), you will head to the Belize Caves. This is where you start with a hike through the exotic rainforest to the mouth of the cave. The view is stunning as you float away from the cave entrance to your inner tube with only your headlamp to lead the way.
Afterward, you will return to your hotel.

Here we drop off snorkelers who snorkel off the beach of the Island, while the divers go off the Boat, your first dive and snorkel last approximately 50 minutes. After this, we then prepare our finger-licking island bbq on the island for lunch.
After an hour of lunch and enjoying the island, we then go for a second dive and snorkel, also lasting approximately 50 minutes, when this is completed, the entire group ( both snorkelers and divers) gets back on the boat and go to Turtle alley, where we swim with Turtles, Rays and Nurse Sharks for about 25 minutes. (turtle alley snorkel is only done when tours go to Silk Caye)
When this is completed we then head back to the mainland

Rio Frio Cave has a huge opening and is easily accessible. Just a short walk from the parking lot, you will be able to explore this impressive cave, which has one of the biggest openings in all of Belize. The Rio Frio (Cold River) calmly flows through the cave, and you should be able to spot pieces of ancient Mayan Pottery. The mud in the river is often used for spa treatments, as it is rich in nutrients.
Take a short drive from Rio Free Cave to the very popular Rio On Pools. Your guide will first take you to an overlook where you can take stunning pictures of the natural pools and small waterfalls from above. Then take a short hike down to the pools, which is a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch or cold beverage as you relax in the small pools and waterfalls. Try out the fun natural waterslide, too!
After Rio On Pools, finish your day off with a swim at Big Rock Falls. This is a more challenging hike as you must climb down several sets of steep stairs to reach the falls. The view of the 150-foot falls and swimming in the deeper pools are worth the hike! The ATM Cave is a "must do" tour experience- and it's easily accessible!! The tour starts with a 45 min hike through the jungle in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. It is a great ... moreway to soak in the majesty of the surrounding jungle. You will cross three rivers as you wind your way through the jungle to the mouth of the cave. Tour duration is approximately 3 hours. Bring along a change of clothes as you will be completely wet by the time the tour is over. Understanding why this cave was of such sacred importance to the Mayas requires an understanding of their spirituality. In the Maya religion, the gods of agriculture, rain, and fertility were believed to reside in the underworld. It would only seem natural that the ATM Cave, with its seemingly endless pits, would be seen as a potential gateway to the underworld. By making human sacrifices within the cave, they could appeal to these important gods practically at their front door.
Guests should dress as if preparing for a hike, bringing comfortable clothes and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Also, socks are mandatory for walking inside the cave. Bring along a towel and change of clothes (required) for a dry trip on your return transfer. Bear in mind that no cameras are allowed within the cave. The prohibition of cameras prevents damage to remaining skeletons and artifacts and preserves ATM for future generations.
